Membership tally - 28/03/2011

42,007

8,079 of them are new members.

long way off 50,000 members. bit disappointing.

Still 3 months to go. 3 wins by midseason will probably get us 50,000

we should publicly come out and state we want to break the 50k barrier and simultaneously achieve the 10k new member goal. We've done really well to date - sometimes a simple public reminder can galvanise the supporters to help the club break some records. Still plenty who havent renewed lets get them on board!!

50k this season coupled with 7-9 wins and we'll go for 60k next season mark my words

Correct. We're only about 500 behind our 2009 figure and we got 47,000 that year with only 1 win by midseason. I reckon we can get at least 3 wins by then  8)

Blaisee when youve worked your behind of to get 8000 new members and your only at 42000 at the start of R1 then that is a disappointing result. There is no other way around it. If people who were members last years renewed then we would have passed that 50,000 target number now, but I fear that Operation 10k has acted as an excuse for the traditional bandwagon jumpers to jump off. Overall it seems (at the moment) that there will be NO NET POSITIVE GAIN. Of course these people may jump on this week and next but until that happens I still say its a disappointing number.

I'm not sure how you can say that when we are so far ahead of last year's numbers.

Flagman - we have one of the lowest "churn rates" in the comp. Our numbers I reckon reflect that

BTW for people that don't know "Churn rate" means people not renewing as members. The % throughout the comp is quite large and ours comapred to the average is quite low

I reckon 42K by round 1 is a bloody good effort all thing considered. We are ahead of last year and are traking for an overall record number - can't expect much more really

I wonder what that makes the Cats, Saints and Bombers membership?

We are traking well compared to last year at the same time:

@ 29/3/2010 = 37,561

http://oneeyed-richmond.com/forum/index.php?topic=10127.msg179461#msg179461

And further

Our total number of members in 2010 was 42,311

Our record membership number was in 2009 = 46,041

So I reckon it is fair to say we will pass last year's number easily and will go close to setting a record

I took the "record number" from the Clubs 2009 annual report that lists the membership numbers from 2000 through to 2009

46041 is the highest on that list

I think the club should be looking at 50 as a minimum.

With all things considered we still have the best part of 10 weeks to get another 8000 members.

200 a from today to the end of May not taking into account any match day sales takes us to over 51000.

A few wins and some good displays and a sprinkling of blind faith will surely boost the Club's chances of

getting there.

How about giving all new members an incentive to renew so we don loose them.
The club that keeps giving.
