I might be totally off on this one but i'll stick my neck out and say Gaff doesnt impress me at all from what i have seen. Looks very vanilla and likes to peel off ultra deep for easy possessions, never seen him kick it under pressure. Reminds me of Carazzo

Think a lot of those open possessions are due to his elite speed and endurance as displayed at the draft camp. Nothing wrong with someone who can "accumulate" possession if there is already the inside grunt in the team (martin, cotch, jackson). Personally would love gaff at 6 but seems highly unlikely he will fall there.

agree that Gaff would compliment our engine room nicely. Not gonna get him tho.
I've heard that Polec has absolutely no right foot. Can anyone confirm this?
Its a concern if true.

I'd be happy with Caddy or Heppel.

I've seen him use his right during the championships, he kicked a goal on his right in the final game at Skilled, check the youtube vid. He has avery strong preference for his left but moving into a full time AFL environment I think that he could become more comfortable with his opposite side.

He will be a very good player I think.

Just an aside but is there any coincidence we're suddenly interested in a number of left-footers (I think both Grigg and Houli are left-footers as well)?! The Hawks built their flag gameplan around lefties when Hardwick was an assistant at Glenferrie/Waverley. IIRC he was given a substancial amount of the credit for their gameplan back then.

yep said it in another thread. I think its a clue as to Hardwicks thinking.

Could lead us to our new draftee.  Gaff and Atley both left footers are they not?

RICHMOND

NAB AFL Draft selections:
6, 29, 46, 50, 63, plus end-of-round-one compensation selection (Nathan Bock)

Delistings and retirements: Andrew Collins (Carlton), Ben Cousins, Alroy Gilligan*, Tom Hislop, Jordan McMahon, Graham Polak*, Dean Polo, Relton Roberts*, Troy Simmonds, Richard Tambling (Adelaide), Adam Thomson

Additions: Shaun Grigg (Carlton)

Approach: Having picked up Shaun Grigg from Carlton in trade week, and with disgruntled Essendon midfielder Bachar Houli expected to come on board in the pre-season draft, the Tigers have plenty of midfield depth. What they need most is a tall defender with good skills who can help out Chris Newman in the backline. With Tyrone Vickery taking time to prove himself, a young ruckman would be another handy addition.

Dream selection: Skilful South Australian wingman Jared Polec is a likely contender to be taken by the Tigers with pick six, but given that they need a ruckman, Norwood beanpole Daniel Gorringe shapes as another genuine possibility.

Ruckman Daniel Gorringe could be a good fit for Richmond

I am starting to rate Polec higher than the other posibilties as he has some amazing skills.

He is good in trafic as well as very good on the outside - have a look and let me know your thoughts.

For those who are keen on accurate kicks......

Lucas Cook, 196cm key forward, was one of only 11 attendees of the national and state combines who registered a score of 5/5 in the Nathan Buckley-designed kicking test.

Midfielders David Swallow and Harley Bennell and big forward Sam Day, who are expected to be taken by the Suns with at No.1, 2 and 3, all recorded 5/5 for kicking.

Geelong Falcons forward Jayden Pitt, Calder Cannons duo Matthew Watson and Dion Prestia, Oakleigh Chargers ball-magnet Andrew Gaff and Gippsland's Jed Lamb, who stood out in 2010 thanks to his fluorescent yellow boots.

The other two players to record perfect scores in kicking at the state and national combines were Perth midfielder Reece Conca and Port Adelaide Magpies small forward Terry Milera. Conca, who has been compared to Western Bulldogs star Ryan Griffen.

Tigers went and had dinner at Keiran Harper's house not so long ago. So we must be interested in him.
