Shaun Grigg [merged]

It is an area that could be weakened if Carlton loses Shaun Grigg, 22, who is out of contract and has already held discussions with Gold Coast and Richmond about his future.

I would assume those discussions are regarding how farcical it would be if Grigg landed a 2nd afl club and stayed in the system.

Houli would be a great coup via psd, but grigg, gee he cant kick and thats a real worry, I guess via PSD would be OK though, want more for Wil T than Grigg, have a feeling that Will may end up at Freo to replace Tarrant.

We badly need a decent ruck, but Grigg falls so far short of the category.
We will rise again and when we do, they will know.

Emerging midfielder Shaun Grigg has asked to be traded.

Grigg ... has played 43 games for the club since his 2007 debut, but was limited to just eight this year.

The 22-year-old returned from an ankle injury to make his first appearance of the season in round 14, and averaged better than 20 possessions.

General manager of football operations Steven Icke said the Blues were disappointed that Grigg wanted to leave.

"The club will now pursue all options during the exchange period to ensure the best possible outcome for the Carlton Football Club," he said.

Grigg joined Carlton from the North Ballarat Rebels as the club's second-round draft selection (No.19 overall) in 2006.

From a Carlton poster on BF:

Went against everything i had been told. Infact Greg Swann was very confident he [Grigg] would sign this morning. Apparently he's Tigers bound. You will get him cheap, but it wont be till late in trade week. Youve got a gem here.

That's funny

I was speaking to a Carton supporter at work. I asked do you rate Grigg - he said "Yeah I do, if he went to richmond he'd be in your top 10 players" I said "so are you saying he's a good as COtchin, Deledio, Reiwoldt, Martin, etc"

He's reply then was "No but he'd be better that half your list" I said what the bottom half? He said YEAH

Pass  ;D

Weren't we only going to recruit players who can kick?! ::)

Let's hope any rumoured connection to Richmond is rubbish  :pray.

Tigers have offered him $100k/year more than Carlton's best offer. Other clubs looking at trades would presumably have to match the cash.

Grigg walks out on Blues Michael Gleeson
October 1, 2010

A THIRD Carlton player has walked on the club this off-season with midfielder Shaun Grigg yesterday telling the club he wanted to be traded to Richmond.

The 22-year-old Grigg has played just 43 games for the Blues. He played eight of the last nine matches this year before straining a hamstring, which ruled him out of the Blues' final. Grigg has cited greater playing opportunities for his desire to move.

Would prefer Houli over Grigg, Houli can kick better
