Lets be really honest here can this bloke really take us where we want to go. I find him a good depth player that's about it.

tell me what does he providein a tight contest?

The bloke can't pressure opponents if his life depended on it, his floating kicks are VFL standard and he seems extremely slow.

I understand that's  his role to play an uncontested game but when the going gets tough he goes missing.

I'd put him on a 1 year deal at the end of this year if his 3 year deal is up.

Amen, best helicopter kicks in the business

Please Explain: Which player is under pressure to improve at your club?

    Glenn McFarlane
    From: Herald Sun
    May 10, 2013

IN TODAY'S edition of his weekly Please Explain column, Glenn McFarlane turns the blowtorch on the player at your club who needs to lift.

SHAUN GRIGG (Richmond)

Finished fifth in the best-and-fairest last season, but hasn't had the same impact this year. Was better at stages last week, but needs to start getting his hands dirty again.

saw nothing in his 25 off possessions that proves he is part of our future.

same old Grigg yesterday. cheap possessions average disposal.

Coburg bound if you ask me

Interesting to see the gps tracking info on the players yesterday.  Grigg's stands out.  He spends over 50% of his time running and sprinting.  Most other player's walk and jog for 70% plus.  Explains a fair bit imho.

It's a hard game when you run away from the ball

I think this is another of case of stats not telling the truth  ;D

have ball and pass it onto a team and then sprint past to create the next option that is running that is sprinting. Didn't see that yesterday from Grigg

Actually give me Vlaustin's gut running, sprinting or whatever you want to call it over Shaun Grigg's anyday of the week  ;D

Shaun Gregg goes alright

Opp has been putting more work into him this year, had a few run with roles himself to counter that, not yet at his best but will run the season out strongly IMO

Kicks to high.
Handballs to high. Ball takes an eternity to come to earth.
Kicks backwards / sideways too often. Doesn't gain meterage forward and yet racks up many touches...

Not good enough.

You forgot soft and lazy. Coburg bound if Dimma wants to make a stand. Will be at Subiaco though and we're getting nowhere.

Does give his kicks too much elevation and his clanger helicopter kicks are bizarre. Is an outside runner so getting his hands dirty is not what he should be judged upon. He has been tagging opposition outside play-makers which has affected his performance too.

Saying all this though, I still feel he is well below his last years form but he not alone there now is he...

You are right stripes he is an outside runner.

So my suggestion to Coaster Grigg is do some bloody running, gut running at that and be the go to/relase bloke out on the wings rather than watching the game pass him by, that's his role & it's about time in 2013 he actually did it
