Richmond doing a preseason camp in New Zealand
« on: November 07, 2010, 10:40:36 PM »
I just saw this on Mitch Farmer's twitter page:

"17 days until New Zealand I wonder what this preseason camp will be like!"

Sounds like every club is now into high-altitude training camps after the Pies' won the flag.

I'll be fun Mitch  :thumbsup (and hopefully hard work)

Just make sure none of the boys do anything stupid like some extreme sports and hurt themselves.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

According to KiwiTiger on BF it's from November 24-28. Auckland to start off with. Leppitsch is organising it. Amazing Race type format. Coteries are also funding and attending. It's believed the entire playing list will be going including the new draftees. They're back to normal training in December.

Day 1 - the adventure begins
richmondfc.com.au
10:16 PM Wed 24 Nov, 2010

The Tigers spent the first day of their New Zealand adventure today with plenty of travelling, and the first of many challenges for the week.

The entire playing list, coaches, some staff members and a group of Richmond coterie members, made the trip to the airport early on Wednesday before arriving in Auckland at 5pm.

The trip organisers had given the players very little information about what they would face during the trip…all they knew was what to pack, and what time to get to the airport.

The players were split into five colour groups - Red, Maroon, Green, White and Black, and will be vying for the ‘Kiwi Cup’ throughout a series of physical and mental challenges.

As deemed by RFC officials, the team with the most points accumulated over the trip is declared the winner.

As soon as the teams landed in Auckland, they took part in a 100-piece jigsaw puzzle challenge, with the first team given a head start to find their way - without maps - to the team hotel.

The black team got off to shaky start when they left young Irishman Jamie O’Reilly behind, but they soon realised they were a man down and returned to collect him.

Later that evening, the teams created their own theme songs and performed them in front of the entire group, with the red team claiming the points - and the ascendancy - for day two of the trip.

From what I can see from the photos, Bachar will be #14. Hislop is also over there, so he'd have to be a definite to be rookied.
And you may not think I care for you
