It's quite funny, some may say ironic when you look at this situation
Our current opposition who get lauded for everything in the politics thread voted against intervening in getting Assange freed. Two Liberal senators went as far as to say today that he shouldn't be considered a hero and has bought the last 14 odd years on himself.
Our current government in particular the PM gets whacked for absolutely everything on the politics thread. But they have pushed for his release and have worked with the US government to facilitate it.
But I'm sure that alot of people won't be able to put their political bias aside and acknowledge any of this.
But whatever....
