MT has 65 in his corner, Enough said.

FWIW Damo. Victoria is represented on the Council of the Order of Australia by State Department of Premier and Cabinet secretary Jeremi Moule, who was promoted to the plum public servant role by Mr Andrews.

Also does anyone know else received this highest award he did. It certainly wasnt ND. Abbott did and you could argue he didnt deserve it either, but next to  he deserves 2 of em.
3 landslide state election wins including one post-covid says otherwise.

Wait until Andrews gets his statue as well  :whistle  :lol.

There are 19 members on the Council of the Order of Australia and as I mentioned every state premier and PM gets awarded an Australia honours award unless they refuse it like Keating did.

Vic premiers since WW2:

Knighthoods - Bolte (GCMG), Hamer (KCMG and an AC), Dunstan (KCMG), McDonald
CMG - Thomson (also an AO)
AC - Kirner, Kennett, Bracks, Andrews
AO - Brumby, Baillieu, Napthine

PMs:

Lord/Viscount - Bruce (CH, PC)
Knighthoods - Barton (GCMG), Reid (GCB GCMG PC), Cook (GCMG), Page (GCMG CH PC), Menzies (KT AK CH),
Fadden (GCMG), McEwen (GCMG CH), Gorton (GCMG CH AC), McMahon (GCMG CH PC)
CH - Hughes, Lyons, Fraser (PC AC)
AC - Whitlam, Hawke, Howard (OM), Rudd, Gillard, Abbott, Turnbull.

Other AC federal pollies - Tim Fischer, Alexander Downer, Doug Anthony, Kim Beazley, Andrew Peacock, Ian Sinclair, Bill Hayden, Simon Crean, Peter Costello, John Anderson.

A stack of state premiers and GGs since the 90s have an AC too.

I'm all for nuclear.

We have the world's largest uranium deposit, are surrounded by sea, most people live on the coast and the majority of the country is uninhabitable desert.

Makes a lot of sense.
Except it's the most expensive form of energy especially starting from scratch (they aren't cheap to build) in a dry continent like Australia. Nuclear power stations require a reliable source of water and a lot of it or some other coolant to keep the core stable.

A major nuclear plant that Britain’s government hopes will generate affordable, low-carbon energy could cost up to 46 billion pounds.
https://apnews.com/article/uk-nuclear-plant-hinkley-point-costs-67adc627f0acf130d3ea6c2423e98c4e

That's close to A$90 billion for just one plant  :o.

No one in the private sector is going to fork out and invest that amount of money when other forms of clean energy in Australia are becoming cheaper as technology advances and won't take up to 20 years to deliver a single watt of power let alone any investment return.

Dutton's nuclear fairytale which as no details and no costings is just a reactionary ruse to delay the transition to clean energy in some futile attempt to protect the LNP's coal mates. Trying to re-start the so-called "climate wars" is just a political opposition tactic which fails when in govt. We've seen this movie before and if it is allowed to succeed then the nation as a whole ultimately pays dearly for the LNP's reactionary denialism and inaction.

Should be state owned nuclear and use sea water as coolant given most people live near the coast in Australia.

We have virtually unlimited nuclear file, seawater and safe underground storage space for waste (which is generally small in quantity).

I especially liked use of the descriptive “cum sock”
Thought it summed things up rather accurately

I don't it and it goes against site rules , smut, gutter language ...cheap schoolyard crassness

I will leave this post unedited to make it clear that this sort of language is not going to be tolerated

Hence, why I've just edited Frankie's post

Finally, your original post can stay but if anyone else quotes any of the smut from within it I will have no hesitation in removing it and any subsequent posts

It has nothing to do with political ideology but a helluva lot to do with with respect and decency

there wont be a single person on this site except 2 that would defend that stupid decision, and especially ahead of ND.

At least have the courage to name the supposed 2... rather than your normal attempt at baiting

FWIW, Andrews doesn't deserve the honour. Very few pollies do if we are being honest. But without fail they get given them.

These honours have a been a joke for a very long time. This latest batch is just further proof of it
