Asking is one thing...answering is another.
I actually find the question difficult. Riewoldt made the biggest difference on the scoreboard and as our only forward (Coleman medalist to boot) he is incredibly important to our onfield success. A fit Cotchin will make a huge impact as will Martin if he build on his first year. Astbury holding down the backline would fill a huge hole in our team as would Gus finally stepping up (or any ruck for that matter!).
Lids and Newman are consistent performers for us and without their leadership and talent we would be stuffed!
But my choice came down to three - Benny Gale, because he is transforming the clubs fortunes which will eventually bring us onfield success. Hardwick for similar reasons because he is changing the playing culture and finally developing the young players but my choice ended up being a player - Nathan Foley. A fit Foley would change the dynamics of our midfield completely - with Cotchin and Martin now commanding opposition attention, Foley could get the freedom to explode this year.
I'm
that all of our good performers maintain or exceed their levels this year (Riewoldt, Martin, Cotchin etc) so if Foley can bring his 'A' game this year it will make the biggest difference to our success rate.....in my humble opinion of course
