Deledio- Think some on here who jumped on lids last week labelling him selfish should think a little more b4 they comment. For me was clearly best on ground tonight absolutely towelled up goddard love seeing him through the midfield and pushing forward.
One of those people who jumped on him last week was me and I make no apolagi! I was refering to his game last week and he sucked. This week he compleatly turned it around, pl;ayed one of the best games I have seen, he bleed yellow and black last night and made an impact. This is the standard he should be playing. Great work Lid's
They say it takes a big man to apologise! I guess that makes you...... a bozzo-from-Tas!
Mate, what am I apologising for?? He had a crap game against Carlton didn't he?? Thats the way I seen it thats the way I wrote it! To see the way he played this week makes last weeks game even worse knowing this is how he should be playing consistently. He came back brilliantly this week, lets hope he can keep it up and lead this club out of the poo it's been wallowing in for the past 20 years!!!
The thing about it is mate, is why do you feel it necessary to bag our players after they don't play like you want them to. It was round 1, Lids had had little match practice due to a few niggles during preseason, and to be totally honest with you he was not that bad. I watched that game back a few times and think he went OK... Bit to quick to jump on a bloke that has been our best player for the last 3 to 4 years. Don't you think?
Big Tone,
Sorry mate but you have taken me completely out of context, where did I bag Lid's? In a game where everyone was pointing the finger at bad performances by lesser players (Nahas, Rance,White to name a few) I pointed out that some of our senior players needed to stand up and set an example, Lids was one of these players! I said he played selfish football, his direct opponent kicked 2 goals because Lid's refused to man up on him ( not sure if its classed as bagging him if it's true??) I don't mind that if it works back the other way but in this game it didn't!! He himself has admitted he had a poor game against Carlton in Dimma's email Quote "Brett, by his own admission, had a disappointing Round 1 game against Carlton" there was also plenty said about his game in the media that reflected my thoughts in the week that followed so clearly I wasn't the only one who noticed.
You say he was under done, yet the following week he plays the game of his life, it would be great if it took every underdone bloke one game to hit there peak! He wasn't underdone, he had a poor game he was clearly given a rocket through the week and he came out against the Saints and played like we all no he can play!!!
I believe Lid's can win a Brownlow he is a star, he just need more consistency in his performances and play every week like he did on the weekend.
