Occasionally you are clever and funny without needing to resort to schoolboy crassness.

This was one of those rare occasions.

We should as a Club make a formal complaint to Giesch. The AFL has continually stated since they brought in the new rule that if your under pressure it's not deliberate.

Tonight was the worst umpired game I've ever seen.

Gwilt's deliberate out of bounds was horrible.
Holding the ball against all night was a lottery
Morton's Mark disallowed pathetic, how any of the 3 umpires couldn't see it is pathetic.
McGuanes rushed behind is blatant incorrect interpretation of the rule and the reason why the umpiring industry are hated.
Add Jason Blake's one arm throw 15m out from our goal in the 3rd quarter which wasn't paid along with Fisher from memory placing the ball on the turf when tackled. Last I knew both should be obvious frees against for illegal disposal  ::).
You took the words out of my mouth, MT!
The saints continually placed the ball on the ground whilst being tackled and tapped it away, now that is dropping the ball! The one armed throw's were when the player had no proir opportunity but it is still a throw!
Those lack of decisions making cheesed me more than McGuanes rushed behind!

was an appalling decision, i understood the rule that allowed for a rushed if the player was under pressure...the dozy umpire was fooled because he was 10metres out, rather than on the line...and spot earlier with that play in 3 or 4th qtr with saints paddling the ball up in the air spilling out of tackle , was plain obvious...Poor night from umps after a pretty good one in R 1  :o

Three certainies in life;
taxes, death and when Richmond dont win people will sook on this forum about the umpiring.

Yes, the mcguane decision was terrible, and there were a few otherw as well, but overall we got a reasanble run with the umps.

our players make many more poor, costly decisions than the umpires and they get paid a lot more.

I don't believe there was smokey. The Morton mark that wasn't was simply a mistake by the ump who thought it had bounced first. Whereas the ump who paid the free against McGuane didn't understand the rule. Even Leigh Matthew on the coverage who is on the rules committee apparently didn't know if it was a free or not commentating live. That gives you confidence about the rules doesn't it  :P.

I want to get Geischen in a small room and tie him to a chair.

Over the course of 5 weeks i will inject him with A Grade pure Smack (starting with a gram a day),feed him kfc and prune juice, allowing him,"standing time" for a period of no more than 1 hour a day.

At the end of this fruitful period he shall be released back into the offices of the AFL umpires association, where hopefully he'll die in a pile of his own poo and highly toxic bodily fluids

Umps: We were wrong against Richmond
Rod Nicholson
Sunday Herald Sun

THE AFL has admitted umpire Scott Jeffery made a mistake when he awarded a free kick against Richmond defender Luke McGuane in the draw with St Kilda at the MCG on Friday night.

AFL media manager Patrick Keane said the umpires' department conceded the error, which cost Richmond a goal late in the tense final term.

"McGuane was under immediate pressure and is allowed to defend in that situation. The umpire made a mistake," Keane said.

McGuane handballed the ball through the posts when about to be tackled with the Tigers a goal in front at the time.

The decision changed the momentum of the game.

It was not McGuane's night. He must defend a report for a head-high bump on Saint Farren Ray after being reported.
