Of course we would

We won't be giving up that compo pick with the quality of next year's draft.

Port need a ruck. Gus + 2nd round pick will be on the table and they'll go from there I reckon.

Would people swap say Adelaides compo pick and Thursfield/Mc.Gone for him?

No.  That would be paying way overs.  Thursfield or McGuane and a pick around 50-60 at most.

When are we going to get something decent off these guys? Trengove would fit in here but I don't know who they'd be interested in. Good luck trying to turn McGuane into another success story :D

Give them our prize cow, a new bell, and a decent draft pick

All nice in theory WAT. Just wouldn't want to pay overs for him.

A mid range player like Edwards who has been in the system 5 years would be an adequate swap. Even so I kind

of think that a deal involving someone like McGuane. Like for Like. Been in the system for 5 years and will fit

right in at Alberton not being the number 1 defender behind Carlisle.

Trade week targets? [merged]
« Reply #112 on: June 28, 2011, 03:33:02 AM »
We know we have Blair Hartley on board as our opposition list analyst to scan potential trade targets (and eventually any potential free agents) and we're apparently interested in Port's Jackson Trengove according to the media.

Any other possible targets? Just putting this out there as a hypothetical but would the Club look at say a Paddy Ryder who has natural talent but is out of form for whatever reason in a struggling Bombers line-up. Say possibly as a CHB or at least as another KPP?

I read in one of the papers yesterday - Mitch Clarke a possibly target..not sure on that one either

But Ryder is a NO and I don't think the Bumbmlers will trade him anyway

No to Ryder. Lazy and Essendumb would want a first rounder.

They have no idea when it comes to trading.  :lol

A ruck would be nice, a key backman... maybe, we have Rance, Grimes, Astbury coming through there.

After Saturday, it is evident we still need plenty of midfield depth.

Strengthen the spine with a decent ruck and a monster CHB then load up on mids, mids and more mids

A midfielder and a small forward.
Nahas may find it hard next year with more attention. Taylor might not ever return. We need a Robbie Gray type forward

If we can use a Fiora type player to get him, i'd be all for it.
