According to one of the purple poufs we have/had Michael walters from freo in our sights.

Quote
Take it with a big grain of salt but I've heard 3rd hand that Richmond officials have met with Walters. Apparently a deal was all but done before Harvey got sacked so things might change. Didn't say what we would get but I'm thinking a pick upgrade.

Will be one of our best kicks if trade gets done. Left shoe is ridiculously good. Kicked 3 in the semi vs Geelong when they were thumped and was their best player according to Freo fans. Would like him at Richmond. He can toss the coin at Dreamtime  ;D

sonny walters, this is the kid that grew up living next to naitanui and yarran

think he has been a bit injury prone so far, some of that fitness related

hard little mid/fwd with great skills though, will be 22 next year

might do well to get out of perth and see how his previously injury prone and 'underprepared' mate yaz is doing it at a big vic club

Comment From SkippaSkippa: ]
Word is Connors, McGuane, Nason, Morton & Tuck all set to leave tigerland, who do you think we will get in return?
Wednesday September 28, 2011 1:35 Skippa

1:36  Not sure why Connors wants out, but he does. They stuck by him through that Sydney incident with Ben Cousins, then he had repeated calf injuries this year.
Tuck is getting one more year with a new contract and think Nason will head to Adelaide in the Maric deal. Maric will definitely get to Richmond.
Morton wouldn't attract much. Think GWS his only chance

Comment From tomtom: ]
any players going to tigerland apart from maric?
Wednesday September 28, 2011 1:50 tom

1:51  Tigers want to get aggressive, but the pool of available players is pretty slim.
Spoke to Daniel Jackson at the b and f and he said rumours about him going elsewhere were false - he wants to stay.  :(
I thought maybe with all the mids they had Nathan Foley might get squeezed out if they wanted to trade, but the Tigers love him.
People high up used expressions like, ''We want to add to our midfield, not trade it away''. He is still out of contract though

I asked Ralphy a question:

1:59 Comment From JVT
Ralphy, you said not long ago 'it's only fair' that the Tigers give up that compo pick to Adelaide for Maric . . . Are you dreaming mate? Should the Bulldogs give us Pick 19 back because McMahon was a dud? Should Hawks give Essendon another Pick 16 because Mark Williams only played a handful of games for them? Ridiculous thought process by you mate!

2:00   I like your McMahon analogy. What is fair then? How do they get Maric if Adelaide just play hard ball cos they feel they got shafted over the Tambling deal.
Point well made

My follow up comment didn't get through which was saying that we hold all the cards as Maric is out of contract and can go into the PSD for nothing, just as Bachar did when Essendon played hard ball.  :wallywink
