OK, just killing time untill it's safe to go pick up our car.

On PRE there are claims we are in negotiations with carlton over Kane Lucas.

dug up this on kane;

Ive heard Kane Lucas is pretty dirty on Carlton, as are his family.

He was played last year despite telling the medical staff his hamstring felt like it was going to ping.

Was told to get on with it and proceeded to nearly rip it from the bone.

...plenty of rumours that we have been discussing a "smaller" trade with Carlton so that would make some sense...he's the right age & while he didn't get much time last year, has shown a bit in his few hit outs...was a top 20 pick from memory (12 - 15 ish??) so obviously has some potential - not sure if he'll develop into more than depth but as we've seen from the good teams, you need a list of 30+ players to pick from not just your 22 best...if we got him cheaply I wouldn't be upset & we've gotta back BH to continue to unearth players from other lists with potential...still not the big fish Dimma was talking about (I hope )

might be all "huff & puff"...I'll see if I can find the link it's related too...pretty sure that was when the Dangerfield rumour gathered some momentum...

I'm fairly sure the "big fish" comment he made was in reference to Free Agency 2012.

Yeah, it was Al.  Said it when they were announcing the FTF at the start of the year and as RFCO said, it was in reference to landing a big fish when free agency comes in in 2012.

I reckon plenty of players would nominate a 2012 flag contender as their preferred club to be traded to :p

Anyway, I just wanted to add some food for thought. A brief disclaimer to say that I'm not suggesting or endorsing this but purely putting it up (so I don't get my head ripped off!). What about Goldsack from Collingwood as a direct upgrade on McDud and Thursfield? Been keen to resign to the Pies all year but no luck. Possibly they were waiting or the coaching handover to decide on lists. Played out the season and the finals only to get dropped in the granny for an unfit Reid. If I remember correctly he averaged 13 disposals and 3 tackles off half back. 194'ish cm and close to 90 kegs (just on my phone so can't easily look junk up sorry).
