I have updated the offical trades thread, we have trade #3.

ADELAIDE forward Jack Gunston has been traded to Hawthorn.

In a deal completed on Wednesday, Adelaide traded Gunston along with it's third round National Draft pick (53), it's fourth round pick (71) to the Hawks for their round one selection (24), round two selection (46) and round three selection (64)

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/124995/default.aspx
I'm guessing the Hawks weren't going to be use those late picks as live picks in the National draft anyway and only need a couple of late picks whereever for rookie elevations. So for them they got Gunston for pick 24 which is what they were after at te start of the week.

Hopefully now with Adelaide gaining pick 24, there'll be even lesser of a reason for them to argue they need our compo pick for Maric.

Yep, essentially gave their first round and downgraded their second rounder by 7 picks. Third rounder irrelevant as will be used to upgrade Bruest.

Just a question for all you gurus and unsure if it has been mentioned, Lovett Murray, (the one who didn't play a game for St Kilda) is he worth a punt?? Unsure if Nathan or Andrew, any upside??

MOL Its Andrew Lovett. Lovett Murray plays for The Bombers. No thanks to Lovett. Nothing but a receiving downhill skier.

Snip! For legal reasons we can't even in jest talk about a player's non-football/legal issues/past.

Back to the topic...

So much for being aggressive this year, bunch of limp dicks, there are rucks, defenders, forwards out there and we are in the running for one player. Weak as pee tigers...

What would you give up and for who mate?

You honestly think Edwards is going to bring Gillies to Punt Rd. Your kidding yourself. Unless we trade away our first 2 picks and the compo, we are not going to get the names you would want. Clubs have some obscure idea that run of the mill type players are worth first rounders all of a sudden.

There's also a rumour doing the rounds this arvo on SEN and 3aw that James Hird had lunch with Setanta O'hAilpan.

You'd think Saints could really use there future coach now.
IMO the 2 questions would be. Does he truly believe they can give it one more realistic crack next year. Or do pick up a  few young players that they can draft this year with early picks(off GWS) and rebuild and be back at it in 3-5 years.

Saints window has well and truly gone. They need to go into full rebuild mode and draft as many quality young players as they can or they will be stuffed for the decade. If they could get picks 2 and 7 for Goddard then they should jump at it.

Have a crack mate, that's what I am saying, let's hear somebloodything in the press about who we are throwing around and trying to get. Let's get involved......everyone rates Edward's on this forum apart from me, let's see what other clubs rate him as, let's see what White, Edwards, Gus, and a few others could get us.

But ffs if the RFC brains come out and say, AS THEY DID that we would be very involved and aggressive during trade period.......stuffing DO IT!!!

Trade Talk - Day 3

Out-of-contract Saint, Tom Lynch, a first-round draft selection, wants to move to Adelaide, with the Crows and Saints negotiating a deal.

The Saints have not received offers for the likes of Jason Gram, Farren Ray or Zac Dawson, who they put on the trading block earlier this week.

Port Adelaide and West Coast were closer to working out a deal to send Eagle Brad Ebert home to Adelaide.

Hawthorn and Fremantle are understood to be negotiating with Greater Western Sydney to trade for pre-listed player Lee Spur of Central District.

Essendon has fielded interest in rookie-listed ruckman Josh Jenkins, with Gold Coast and Adelaide believed to be most enthusiastic.

Greater Western Sydney has expressed some interest in out-of-contract Western Bulldog Sam Reid.

Hawthorn confirmed it may send Rick Ladson to the Giants.

Bulldog Josh Hill looks almost certain to be traded to West Coast for a late draft pick.
