Patrick Naish
Midfielder
Northern Knights/Vic Metro
183cm/73kg
15/1/99

The Richmond father-son prospect has pieced together a strong season. Naish can play as a midfielder or on a flank at either end, with his running ability and line-breaking dash offering something different. He combines that with top-end kicking – he's a controlled kick on the run and a nice set shot for goal. He kicked seven goals recently at school level. The Tigers will have first call on the son of former player Chris.

Anyone know where he currently sits in the draft pecking order? Late first/early second?

It varies with time. Currently a second rounder. Two months ago he was a third rounder at best.
Best to ask again in November.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

I'm figuring this is going to cost us a first rounder now.

OK, how ?, who bids on him to cost us a first rounder ?

I hear Carlton like him, no way with there first though, so say their 2nd & they finish 16th so 912 points minus 20% so now = 729 points, that equals 2 3rd rounders & carry a bit into 2018 draft

Or if someone bids too high just let him go and call their bluff.

I was speaking figuratively not literally, as I think Dooks was as well but I don't want to speak for someone else.

I have no idea where he will get drafted. He just seems to be burning it up and creating a lot of attention. So it will be just our luck he attracts a first round bid before ours. That is all I was alluding to.

I assume the journo means he was a pivotal centreman for South Fremantle's 1980 premiership, not ours. He won a Simpson medal (BOG WAFL grandfinal) in 1980

But he won that 2 years in a row..... 1980 AND 1981. Add in his Norm Smith in 1982 and you can see why he is one of the greatest big game players of all-time. BOG in 3 GFs in a row. Don't think anyone else has achieved that feat.

Yeah pretty impressive. And two of those BOGs were in losing teams (1981 and 1982)
