Any Father sons to look out for?

The main thing that bugs me about this is that when the two main criteria for NGA eligibilty are indigenous   and ethnic backgrounds, we're the only club without a zone in either the western states which are the hotbeds of indigenous talent and we're the only club without a zone in a metro area where the vast majority of ethnic kids live....seems like it kind of puts us behind the eight-ball to start with...

there are large sudanese enclaves in Shep etc & large indigenous populations in our NW vic zone, not perfect but not as bad as you are suggesting I dont beleive

Firstly, the clubs had to accept what was given to them by the AFL and so I'm not sure how you can say the club got it wrong. Secondly, this is something that can't be judged in a short time. Give it 5 to 10 years before we can see how good or bad the zones are to all teams before being too critical.

just because a couple of clubs got lucky with their timing, NM with tassie & Tarryn Thomas & the scum with Quaynor, doesn't mean we got it wrong.

if the NGA has started 3 years earlier we could have got Jarman Impie

The simple solution to this is to transfer either Hawthorn's Metro or their NT Zone to us.

The Eastern Ranges are full of strong football bloodlines. Dale Weightman has two nephews at the club – Connor Weightman and Will Parker.

The family trees of this year's draft pool extend a couple of generations down the line. Tom Green, who is eligible to join Greater Western Sydney as an Academy player, is the grandson of Richmond team of the century member and triple-premiership player Michael Green.

Elijah Hollands, the son of former Richmond player Ben, has already shown recruiters he looms as an early selection next year.

A classy forward who just has that knack of finding the goals, he was disappointed in himself missing a few early chances, before kicking two for the game, including a natural instinct shot off the left to win the game for the Bushrangers. Hollands also shows good second efforts, giving off a quick handball before following up with a tackle immediately after.

Hollands was consistent over four quarters and never seemed to fade out of the contest. He was a solid target up forward for the Bushrangers, specifically in the final term when he had a couple of shots on goal that only failed to register a score because of the tough weather conditions. Hollands also displayed his athletic ability, footy smarts, and foot skills throughout the game.

The bottom-age talent showed his class early inside 50, winning a number of possessions on the outside and using his long kicking ability and was one of the top ball winners in the first half. He missed a few opportunities to capitalise from set shots, finishing the game with 1.3, but he timed his leads well, protecting the drop zone with his timing. He was quieter in the second half, but his first half showed the potential he has not only as a forward, but further up the ground as well.

Ben Hollands played 8 games for us and it’s his son I think....
