Which Tiger is our "Don't kick it to him!" type?
« on: June 07, 2011, 04:20:19 PM »
This WA journo is asking today who is Richmond's "don't kick it to him" player?

Oh no, don't kick it to Pav

What we also decided – less scientifically but with more confidence – was that each club in the league had at least one Don't Kick It To Him (DKITH) player.

I'm sure most football fans will know the bloke I'm talking about.

He's the player on your team who, when the ball is kicked towards him in acres of space, you might initially see only the flash of colour of his guernsey and "think we're on here." Then you realise it's the DKITH and close your eyes, swear, pray or do a combination of all of these things at once.

The DKITH doesn't turn it over every time he gets it. He'd have a very short AFL career if he did. It's just that the variation between his good and bad once he gets the ball is so great – and unpredictable – that, going by the law of averages, you'd sometimes prefer he didn't get it at all.

I'm desperately in need of some assistance from fans of Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn, the Gold Coast, North Melbourne and Richmond.

Also, if anyone has any all-time favourite DKITHs, I'm open to suggestions on them as well. Maybe we can come up with an all-DKITH team
.

Don't Kick It To Him

Fremantle – Michael Johnson, Rhys Palmer, Byron Schammer
West Coast – Brad Ebert, Brad Sheppard, Tom Swift
    Adelaide – Richard Douglas
    Brisbane – Daniel Merrett
    Carlton – Brett Thornton
Essendon – Jay Neagle, Brent Stanton
Geelong – Mark Blake, Tom Hawkins
Port Adelaide – Chad Cornes, Kane Cornes
St Kilda – Zac Dawson, Brett Peake
    Sydney – Lewis Roberts-Thomson
    Western Bulldogs – Will Minson.

I agree that the players mentioned aren't good kicks.

There can be only one!
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

He's more a case of,"don't let him touch the ball whatsoever."
