Agree to a degree WAT

I do think too that "the penny has finally dropped" and he now realises the work that's required to be an AFL player and this time round he seems to willing to do the "hard yards"

Also, I actually think it will help being at a club where he has to earn his spot as opposed to being at a Club like ours that because of the state of our list etc he didn't

Yeah fair enough WP but having the penny drop at 28 years old in the modern game of AFL is a bit late for mine.

Wasn't he dropped back to Coburg while with us and didn't he earn that spot back, cant remember but I am sure he did.

Still think he would not have had another year at the RFC though regardless of circumstances. :thumbsup

Hopefully he won't mind too much when his kids are father/son to Richmond.  :thumbsup

Yeah true but I think the penny dropped when he was in jail at 25-26.

And no doubt he would have been cut from Richmond no matter what at the end of 2006 or 2007 (whatever it was) and rightly so

Hopefully he won't mind too much when his kids are father/son to Richmond.  :thumbsup

Not much use to us at the minute because he has 2 little girls  ;D

Also on field opportunities were different at Richmond as opposed to Collingwood.

Collingwood are a more successful far more disciplined and have more variation going into

their forward line as opposed to the stagnant kick it to Richo mantra we preached.  Mick also trains his team

hard alot harder than he would have experienced at Punt Rd. Plethora of reasons which sadly reflects how

far behind we really were in the Frawley and Wallace eras.

To use a Malcolm Blight saying

Andy Maher is a "rats tossbag" and that is kind.

Just another smug Carlton supporter who will fall off his perch one day.

This is extremely bitter sweet watching Andrew Krakouer tear it up at Collingwood.

Don't do your head in too much Mat, there was no way he could stay on our list and we would have delisted or traded him at the end of his last year anyway. There is no way we would of wasted a draft pick on him this year either he does not fit our plan going forward.

Like PL said he is good in a good side but he needs good players around him to support him, he couldnt stand up at Richmond when surrounded by average players. If the Pies have a form slump ( :pray) this year you can put money on it that Krak won't be one of the players to pull them out of it. He will probably be one of the players that started it.

Good luck to him, but this sums it up I thinks.

Doesn't break my heart, a bit like saying Cuzs 2 years at the Tigers broke hearts at the Eagles. Personally hope he makes it and thrives. Hes had his share of issues, gave us plenty of glimpses - would be nice to see him put it together. We would never have traded the same or similar pick for him and at the time -  he had to be delisted.
What's the issue Andy?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Why the complaints. I agree with Popelord in that Ty Esler, Richard Lounder and even Jarrod Oakley Nichols would look good at Collingwood........maybe not JON but any other hack would look good. So if a player is better than good how would he look at the pies right now? Thus the reason why Andy will have a good year.
