Andrew Krakouer threads [merged]
« on: May 23, 2004, 04:49:02 PM »
What happened to him last night?

This post isn't really about his form becuase its been pretty good this year, it's more about his dedication.

I know he tries hard on the footy field, but wtf does he do off it? In the years he's been down at the club the only thing that has changed with his body shape is that he has gotten a little bit fatter. Has he ever stepped foot inside a gym? I don't know how he is expected to progeress to playing on the ball with such muppet arms.

I get so frustrated seeing him rock around with such an underdeveloped build because he has the potential to be an excellent player and he isn't giving himself the best opportunity to do it.

I mean, even Fiora (who is a dud, don't get me wrong) has bothered to increase his muscle mass, despite being a stick. How come Andy hasn't? THe club must be being slack with him.

Well, i coudl say the obvious, he's Aboriginal and goes missing a lot.  He's also developing - and i'm with you John, he has so much puppy fat it's embarrassing.  Maurice Rioli looked the same to me, but he produced.  I think he'll be a good player eventually - time will tell.  I reckon he could be anything, and probably in a better team who know how to develop players, we'd see it.  How many kids have we had with so much promise not developed properly.  Grrrr!!!

He's got the same build as his dad and uncle more or less.
While I agree with the majority of the list9(all) should invest in
some hours on the led(we've chatted about this b4)
Andy could probably play his whole career with just a little
more definition and still aspire to greatness
He's only a little guy and his athleticism and natural skill are
the things that he will always draw on as opposed to a man
on man style of play.

Id treat him like a KB type of player.

More than anything, I think a bit of muscle would work wonders to increase Andy's pace, which is the one place where he is lacking imo. For a small forward he doesn't have any explosiveness. His co-ordination and skill are great, but he can't really explode out on a lead like he should or rove the packs with the same effectiveness that he would if he was quick off the mark.

The problem isn't that he is just thin - there are many thin blokes that are wiry and tightly wound up like a spring coil - the problem is that he is limp and lethargic looking. His dad and uncle were thin, but they were battle hardened and muscly, Andy looks like an athletic 14 year old girl.

I don't want to bag the bloke, just think he could get much more out of himself.

I see your point young John.
Maybe we need to diagnose him with chronic fatigue syndrome
and pump him full of juice like they did for Allaster Lynch.
That guys so pumped from his treatment for CFS that he
doesn't look like quitting anytime soon.

Why cant Hafey take them in to the gym?

Andy's fitness level is my main concern.  Too many times I have seen him pull at his shorts and puff away.  I have said this numerous times - We are probably the least fit team in the comp.  Our weights and physical conditioning staff have got alot to answer for.  Have a look at the saints - for a bunch of kids they look more like men than what our senior players do.

How hard is it to put some weight on Fiora for example.  Force him to take 3-4 protein shakes each day followed by weight sessions and anyone can gain weight.  But as sleeping is his favourite past-time it makes sense that he has remained skinny like how he was when he first started off.
Does anyone have half an idea on anything?

LMFAOOOOOOOO@Lynch being chronically fatigued yet playing till he is 45.

I reckon steroids should be a legitimate treatment for CFS (chronic failure syndrome).

Get Pettifer, Hilton, Fiora, Zantuck etc on the gear.

Another limp bizkit is Justin Blumfield. Very talented player, but no muscle to speak of after ten years of AFL footy. He deserves to be ars-ed in the Burg and never to return until he takes himself seriously.

Agree about St.Kilda, they have got their sheit together in the training department and now they are going to reap the rewards. Our boys on the other hand will do nothing but sink pee and turn out pee weak.

Tell me something guys.

For a while now i've questioned the immediate air quality
in the direct flow of Punt road oval.

Surely it has to be the most polluted intersection in Melbourne

Explain to me this...how can such an environment not severely
damage the cardio vascula and rhespiratory rsystem over time.

The area is like a joke as fae as fresh air goes.

Good point Ox. Llmfaoooo@opposition supporters thinking the same thing and always taking the Punt road route in the hope of making our footy team sufffer.

I'd also like to know if there is any medical research showing a correlation between stupid decision making and pollution intake cos we've been playing some dumb football the last 20 years.

LMAO Ox - that would explain our brain dead players.

Maybe the team should train in the prestine environment of the Dandenong Mountains.

I know for an absolute fact Mick Malthouse had the Weagles and Fagpies boys on some jungle juice injected into the veins.Look at the physics at the West Coast guys in the mid-late 90s.
Maybe Ty 'The Don' wannabe gangster Zantuck can organize a cheap heist to be smuggled into the Punt Rd Gym.
Drink,Drugs and Shagging models.
The rest l just wasted.
