I didn't say anything about his tackling technique Owl. What I meant is if you played him in the midfield he was too lightly framed to be an insider and he was easily brushed aside, and he didn't have the huge tank or the pace to be an outside mid.
This pretty much restricted him to being a goal crumber. But even there he was limited because, unlike his dad, or a Bartlett say, he lacked that initial burst of pace that allowed him to really pounce on the ball from out of nowhere. People assumed he was fast because of his genes, but he really lacked a yard.
