what rubbish, tell me where its says no flights till wednesday??
Weak as pee the AFL
Virgin , the AFL Carrier had planes leaving Sydney at 7.00am this morning.
They had 8 planes landed from Syd into Melb by 11am today ( please check information on Melb Airport Website
Would of thought RFC would have had priority by Virgin ::)
also,Virgin could of elected to fly at a lower level last night, as Emirates have been doing to New Zealand today.

That is one of the many reasons I don't fly with EmRATs Jack.

The Australian based airlines, their crews and their bosses understand the hazard of volcanic ash clouds to the safety of jet aircraft operations and do not risk lives or reputation by trying to fly under a forecast or known volcanic ash cloud.

Are you old enough to remember the British Airways 747 that flew into an ash cloud over Indonesia in the 1980's? All four engines stopped and the jet was lucky to be recovered to Jakarta after they got a couple going again at reduced thrust. The crew could only see out of a small section of the sand blasted windscreen. Aviation practices in relation to volcanic ash has changed significantly for the better since this close call - for 300 or so people.

The ash cloud does not show up on the airliner's weather radar systems and at night you can't see it - so why would you want to take the chance.

Did you put your washing out this morning?

We play Brisbane next week whose own preparations will be in chaos.

They flew out this morning, we back home well before lunchtime

JJ, I caught the train home last night and fresh as a daisy today....stop the carry on its a BUS for 10 hours its not economy class to europe.

You cant help but make a mountain out of mole hill, just let it be FFS, its becoming tiresome.

They will be fine, no damage done.

Totally agree, gee they all look really stressed out don't they...not!! Probably do them the world of good, might bring them back down to earth a bit!!!
DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

just checked airport info, 7 virgin flights have already landed in Melb from sydney this morning
Our players will get back on the bus after dinner tonight, :banghead :banghead

Another clueless post Jack. Kick the CLub when they deserve it not becuase it's a good fit for you

I dont care how many Virgin flights landed at Melb this morning ex Sydney.

I was at Sydeny airport this morning and it was CHAOS. At the hotel I was staying at (Stamford across the road from the Airport) notifcation was that some Virgin flights had been cancelled FACT

The FACTS are all flights last night were cancelled.

FACTS are Virgin did not out & were not putting any extra flights on today to get people home. That isn't a RFC issue it is the incompetence of the AFL's new official carrier

All Virgin did was simply moved people onto other flights. THE RFC had 40 odd people to put on a flight so there was no where to put them. Get a grip on reality. You weren't there so you have no idea what happened and what went on

Call tell you this if the AFL were still aligned with QANTAS they would have been on the 12.00pm flight or QANTAS would have added a flight just like they've always done with the AFL - not a doubt in my mind I would have got shunted to another flight  ;D

AFL jumped into bed with Virgin - the reap the "benefits"

Well done Smokey. I'm glad that someone else recognises the rubbish that one self proclaimed expert of all things posts.

Give him some credit though - I couldn't think up the rubbish that he does.

the other thing lost on some is that this was also safety issue. Fine to say Virgin was flying but by all reports on news services it is mighty risky flying lower than normal.

I am happy to say I flew QANTAS and despite the 18 hour delay I am home safe and sound

I was bloody lucky to moved onto the 12.00pm flightout of Sydney today
