i have to put my hand up and say i did not want to use pick 35 on this bloke. hes been a still at that pick to date.

i firmly believe we have to find his replacement this nd or the following one. 27 in january means we may only get 3 maybe 4 good yrs out of ivan and we need to be getting his eventual replacement up to speed now that mat take 4 or 5 seasons.always think long term.

Agree Claw and whilst Vickery can play in the forward line and give a chop out in the ruck we need to either trade for a second string ruckman or bring Browne in to see what he can provide.

I'd say someone of the ilk of Renouf whilst no world beater would just do a job that at worst would still be better than Graham's best.

Even so we have lumbering ruckmen atm with Ivan and Browne and Vickery is your mobile option I would say another mobile ruckman might be the go.

The great man needs assistance
Gelded Gus  no help
Bo Derrickx a chance
Brown we lose every where else on the ground bc of speed differentiation
The Tyronosuarus is still young and in development

I actually think a fit Vicks would provide the help Ivan needs .so i would hold off recruiting another mature age ruckman ,but would rather draft a promising youngster. But i would certainly ditch Gus and derriks.

This bloke is an absolute Star. Best mature recruit to the RFC for as long as I can remember - and that's a long time.

Maxwell said on AFL Game Day on 7 that one of the 3 things he learnt watching Giants v Port was that Giles was the best recruit of the year.

if vickery is to ever make it as a ruckman and i have real doubts he will be a josh fraser type rather than a jolley maric kruezer or ottens type. gotta have that real big mobile super strong ruckman imo and tyrone aint that.
ruckmen are a funny breed they think pain is fun i dont see that in vickery quite the opposite.
imo his best chance is as a key forward, he will have some real opposition for a spot in the team if a couple of elton  griffiths astbury and post ever come good.

Dimma talking about big Ivan (from SNF)...

Hardwick also revealed that influential big ruck force Ivan Maric has carried lingering soreness for at least a month, but was significantly freer against the Lions to emerge one of the Tigers best in the morale boosting win.

Maric, 26, has been one of the AFL’s feel-good revelations of the 2012 season with his switch from Adelaide to Tigers enforcer around stoppages and packs.

He is likely to be an All-Australian selection nominee with an average of 33 hitouts a game as well as around an impressive 16 disposals an outing in leading the Tigers’ potentially imposing on-ball battery.

“He’s been really sore over the last month,” Hardwick declared of his big ruckman.

“It’s probably the first time he’s looked a little bit free and covered the ground a little bit better.

“I was really pleased with his input.”
