By the way.His non effort next to the behind post was right in front of me.as bad as Farmers deliberate out of bounce where he had eyes for the boundary line .

I thought Farmer was stiff to be pinged for that. What else could he do? He was one out against 2 or 3 Demons, because our backs had been caught out of position. He'd done really well to deny them a gimmee goal where they should have just waltzed into an open goal. But as he got taken to ground he wasn't facing the goals, and so couldn't just concede a point. He was under extreme pressure, and all he did was just handball it away from the contest in the direction he was facing.

Agree Rolls but I reckon what stuff it fo him was the angle in which he pushed the ball towards the line. If he had gone for more metres rather than the shorter option he would have likely got away with it.

I thought he was really stiff because his effort up until that point in that contest was first rate

i feel genuine pity for those that simply cant enjoy a win.

eff me, we don't get many of them.

Enjoyed the win - enjoyed ending any chance the Dees had for finals but still doens't mean a I can't be critical of certain "efforts"

Loved the win, :cheers couldn't get to the game but watched it at the Sandy Pub. A few D's were there and their comments were interesting.
What a great effort by Nahas, his intensity is awesome, love the lad. Cotchins efforts were inspirational. I am eating my words and reckon that Edwards was pretty good as well. His second efforts were very good.
Grigg, :banghead did he have an appointment to be somewhere else? He looked very disinterested. His efforts were very average, disposal was poor, does he know what a shepherd is or what a second effort is? Personally instead of subbing Post off I think it should have been Grigg.

What about the elbow to the head of Morton??
Morton looks like he has another year to offer?

Conclusion. We have to thank Jordon McMahon  ;D for winning the game against Melbourne on the siren 2009, We would have had Scully and they would have had Martin. At last we have a genuine superstar (how many is that now??) and the players that had a real dip are starting to outweigh the players that are just running around.
Great work!! :clapping

what happened to our coaching panel in the 3rd? why the inability to clog up the game or stick afew men behind the play, melbourne were getting through the middle and once that was happening it was almost a certain goal.

Grigg was deplorable there I agree but Farmer to stay in the contest as long as he did and get pinged not by the officiating umpire there but the umpire from 50 metres away was just shocking. I thought Farmer did some nice things last night.

I must say I am not a fan of Farmer but he did do some good things. Possibly would be a better player in a better team but his endeavour is quite good. Has to work a little on his second efforts and delivery but gave him a pass last night.

thought Foley was very good last night. Got us out of a couple of tight situations. looked sharp and explosive
I'd be very wary trading him in his first season back from a long term injury. Unless we are offered something very juicy for him. Might just explode next year.
Also really liked Lids two crucial defensive tackles in the last.  :thumbsup

Agree, we seem to have a history of being quick to trade good players coming off injuries.

Lids is a champ.

I haven't checked the stats but for mine our midfield had the better at winning the footy (except for the 3rd qtr) but defensively we still don't work hard enough as a team.

Hit the nail on the head there, MT.  We didn't run back hard enough when the Dee's broke through the press.  Even if the defenders were able to hold up the run forward of the Dee's for a few moments, we didn't have our midfielders running back hard enought to offer assistance.  Too many times, I saw on the idiot box replays, our mids sort of running back, but they weren't sprinting like you see the Skunks' mids do.

the problem is that it took the skunks 3-4 years to build up a fitness base to be able to play that way.
