Sat 03 Dec, 2011Sabino Canyon in Tucson Arizona’s Coronado National Forest is home to an abundance of wildlife, including coyotes, deer, rabbits, rattlesnakes, tarantulas, birds, tortoises, mountain lions, and a smelly, pig-like desert dweller called a javelina.
The natural desert oasis can now lay claim to another fearsome beast - the King of the Jungle - the mighty Tiger of the Richmond Football Club variety . . .
The Tigers descended on Sabino Canyon for an early morning hike, as part of their pre-season training camp in Arizona, with the players split up into five teams, each of them departing at five-minute intervals.
They took more than three hours to complete the hike, as they negotiated the steep inclines and declines, while keeping a close eye out for any other local ‘nasties’ that could have spoiled the trek.
