Only one Option IMO. Cant believe no one mentions this guy seriously. The bloke has delivered at more than one club. Has a great football brain and has success on his side.

Ayres

This romantic idea of Mick is gone for 2012. Only hope for him is to replace Dimma if we head south and to be honest i cant see that happening

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Ayres

But doesn't it concern anyone that this bloke has been out of the AFL system for how many years now? His last AFL gig was as an assistant to Sheeds at Essendon

And yes I undestand he's just coached Port Melb to the VFL flag but VFL com is very different to AFL

forget senior assistants - we tried and missed out on them, move on.  Go for another quality assistant in the Ross Smith mould like Waters from Collingwood and start getting in the development coaches. We've lost 2, our only 2, which means we need to recruit 4 as our aim was 4 development coaches.

no it doesnt

same thing can be said for guys who played VFL and have stepped into the AFL.

He knows what it takes and has a great relationship with the players he coaches.

Not asking him to be match day coach its all about developing the players

Know Gary
Would think he would be a great development coach at AFL , as was his role with the Bombers under Sheedy.
Speaks well and is very well respected.

Not saying he doens't have a great relationship with the blokes at Port Melb but the way it ended it Adel; didn't it have a bit to do with the fact he'd "lost" the players to a fair degree?
