If he doesnt come to an agreement with collingwood what are peoples thoughts on this bloke?

I'll go first - Im a fan, has elite speed, has no fear and will do a job on the small sneaky players that kill us. Yeah not the greatest skills but played nearly 90games is a deceptively big small defender at 189cms and 89kgs. Is a massive upgrade on a fair few spuds like connors, farmer et al

I think we should be having a serious word in his ear to come over through the PSD.

Wants big money, sure the guy would be in our best 22 and a seriously handy defender.

But do you bring in a mercenary into the club and take a spot away from someone like Morris or Astbury to develop into?

Rance and Grimes + 1 more KP defender? Do we want it to be Toovey on big $?

I'd prefer to go with a Gillies from Geelong than Toovey.

From what I heard on SEN they are after offers of around 350k.

350K a season for two years is what was being bandied about.

I'd rather pay him that that McGuane.

Average player made to look good in a great team. Looks like a deer in the headlights. Would be sadly exposed in our defense.

300K is the average salary nowadays.
350 K with the salary cap room we have.
Has Premiership experience and can provide some insight into the Malthouse type of coaching.
He can offer alot both off and on the field.
Scarlett will be exposed by a leading forward in our defence sometimes also the way the ball comes in. Worth a punt if we can get it done.

Did Freo improve massively because Jack Anthony had insights into the Malthouse type of coaching?

Just simply not a good enough player to bother with. Has shown me nothing to indicate he is better than what we have.

Morris Rance Batchelor
Toovey Astbury Newman

Conca, Houli, Lids Post, Thusfield can all rotate through there on occassions depending on opposition. matchups etc.

like the look of that  ;)

Morris and Toovey alternatively offer us options as quick lockdown defenders on tricky smalls and mediums like that ugly ranga at carlton M.Robinson and L.Dunn players that always have a day out against us.

For the first time it legitimately give us some serious depth and options down back.

Dead right, amazing how much more depth we have by adding two players. The rotations through our backline would be 10 fold to what it is now.
