15 basic errorsBy Ben Guthrie
3:14 PM Mon 16 Jul, 2012RICHMOND made "15 basic mistakes" in the final two minutes of their shock loss to Gold Coast at Cazalys Stadium in Cairns on Saturday.
AFL.com.au's Luke Darcy and Damian Barrett have run through the last two minutes of the game and broken down the different skill errors and basic structural mistakes.
With Richmond leading by 10 points with just 40 seconds remaining, the Tigers make a number of alarming passages of play.
"They just messed up opportunities themselves, got too far behind and really, really stuffed up the last two minutes in the way not many good football clubs have ever done," Barrett said.
Those mistakes included crucial fumbles at critical times, missing easy tackles, not having a ruckman at a boundary throw-in, loose checking of opponents and a lack of composure under pressure.
According to Darcy, that sort of performance rules the Tigers out of finals contention.
"They will be absolutely ropeable. To be a really good side, you can't make basic errors."
"They get two of them right, they probably win the game."
