We all knew we had no depth, right? So how come now that we have been but-plugged by injuries and we have a bad loss (the first really bad loss for the season) the sky is falling in?

A few weeks ago North were getting molested and we were smacking the poo out of the dawks. Now all of a sudden North's membership base has sky-rocketed to 39. Even crusty ol WAT has one!
We can still make finals, just need to beat the Dons or blues. Things can turn around pretty quick.  Dimma has us on the right path. There were always going to be hick-ups along the way. Dont blame Dimma for the monumental stuff-ups of the past. He has done far more good than bad. Same goes for Benny G. Just have a cup of cement and enjoy the ride.

Oh yeah, could someone please tell Jackstar for me that he is a stuffing idiot and has NFI about what is good for the club. He is ignoring me. K. thanks.

 :cheers

i agree beat Nought and Blues and Saturday will be forgotten

Its not the fact we lost its the way we lost, Cotch on the bench, Webberley, Dropped marks, 4 vrs 6 etc etc and to whom we lost to.

Regardless beat Blues and Bombers and not all is lost

Ill only buy this if we agree houli is equal teachers pet.

Dea is nothing like jackson. Tripe.

Tripe? Er No

Suggest you re-read my post Bents

Not talking about Dea as a player

I am talking about Dea being a coaches favourite like Jackson.

Everyone man and his dog knows Jacko is a favourite, hence why he keeps getting games despite is unique ability to butcher the ball and poor decision making.

It is pretty clear to me  that Dea is a favourite of the coaches as well

Allowing a few days for the disbelief and  :banghead to subside, it's actually not a great surprise that at some point this year we produced a monumental cock-up like Saturday. Young sides are notorious for having days out like we did against Hawthorn and Sydney and then just when you think they've past the developing stage and are on their way to greater things, they can't sustain it and degenerate back to producing garbage that we've seen over the past month with the loss to the Suns topping it right off  :P. I think a few of us said at the start of the year that 2012 would likely be very frustrating even if we show improvement. It's the nature of where our list is at. We needed everything to go right to have any chance of making the top 8 and for the first half of the season it did with hardly any injuries and us being able to play our best 22 or close enough each week. The problem is the AFL season is a marathon 22 weeks and injuries creep up as you go along and once we lost a few key players and had to rely again on the spuds we had pushed down to Coburg we were always going to crash back to being a bottom 8 side.

Actually looking on paper the Suns actually had their best side for the year in with all their senior players back (Harbrow, Brown, Swallow, Rischitelli, etc) whereas we had half our best 22 out and as I said all our duds who are barely VFL standard in. The game had loss written all over it. The worst thing the club did was in the week leading up to Saturday we dismissed last year's loss and made up a whole lot of weak excuses for it (ie. lack of preparation, the strong breeze) when the conditions were the same for Gold Coast. It was as if we were in denial over what happened last year. You don't dismiss and disrespect your opposition who were better on the day last time and they proved it again on Saturday. There's a lot of focus on the last 5 minutes; we should not ignore either the fact we were 6 goals down and were being given a bath in the first half. We didn't deserve to win due to our attitude towards the game and how poorly we played during it. A lesson for the whole club next year.

Having miller or graham in the senior side this was always going to happen.

If there is not a drastic change in list and team selection it wont change.

Unfortunately nothing can be done about it until the end of the season when we'll have one more big cleanout of the bottom end of our list.

AFL seeks new Cairns partner
JON PIERIK
The Age
18 Jul, 2012

THE AFL wants Cairns to remain an AFL venue and will seek a replacement club for Richmond when the Tigers' northern deal expires next year.

Richmond president Gary March has said the Tigers would not renew their three-year contract, which has been worth $1.5 million but has come at a cost - two unexpected ''home'' losses to Gold Coast.

Almost 11,000 supporters ventured to Cazaly's Stadium on Saturday, and the AFL wants to continue to harness the local area after the Tigers play their final game up north next season.

"The AFL is keen to see an annual match played in Cairns beyond the Richmond Football Club agreement and we will be actively exploring our options to make this happen,'' AFL spokesman James Tonkin said yesterday.

The Suns could be a possible replacement but one club not interested is the Western Bulldogs.

Agree with MT. Another cleanout is certainly required

Just watched the last quarter again dispassionately. The two blokes who dropped marks, actually had a good game (Derickx and Maric). I think that given their experience in 'clutch' situations I can forgive them. But there is an experienced so-called 'Star' player who under pressure failed to commit his body when 'called' to do so. It was Deledio. @ the 4 min mark he pulled out of a contest with Day, who hand-balled to Caddy and - Goal. Then at the last centre bounce he was 'worried' out of it when he could have taken possession of the ball. Edwards also was pathetic in that last quarter, trying party-tricks instead of taking possession (and risking a hit). Jack also kicked off the ground on two occasions. When it matters we are just not hard enough. That coupled with the Coaching failure caused our demise on the night. I mean,  FFS Mcguane rucking and Cotchin resting at a crucial stage WTF!

That's ok Gigantor. I just dissected the last quarter when the pressure was on and he made several good spoils and pressure acts. Apart from the dropped mark he looked solid.

Was actually going to ask the same question

Derickx dropped  a few marks during the game outside that shocker in the final qtr, also for a big strong bodied bloke his tackling is very poor

Yep I did still trying to work out why LOL

Have watched the replay too

I agree with you regarding Mini Maric, thought it was his best game for us. Also think he should bin the little kicks and concentrate on long kicks because he is IMV a very good long kick and he's a player that really needs to play to his strengths
