#20 - Brandon Ellis - Height: 181cm Weight: 81kg - Calder Cannons

A smart, versatile footballer who can read the play well and has good skills by hand or foot. He also can win his own ball and doesn't rely on being constantly fed it to have an impact in his position. Not only that he can shut down an opponent, tackle well and is not all one way.

I hope smokey doesn't mind me jumping in as Sydney's pick is Father-Son Tom Mitchell.

22. Carlton - Jackson Paine (21/06/1993, 194cm, 87kg, Sandringham Dragons)

Key forward/CHF who played in Sandringham Dragons' premiership side this year. Moves well for his size and is a strong mark on the lead with clean hands and a good kick. Averaged 3.6 tackles per game in the TAC Cup this year so he's not just a mark and kick forward but has a defensive side to his game as well. The one knock on Paine is he can drift in and out of games and that he had Patton next to him taking the best defender in the U18 Champs but he finished the year strongly for Sandy Dragons and in the Grand Final win had 17 disposals and kicked 2 goals on top of playing on after half-time despite a broken thumb. The Blues are looking for more genuine key forwards so Paine is a good choice for them.

Selection 23: West Coast Eagles - Sam Frost - 28/8/93, 194cm, 87kg
Great Athleticism and not afraid to put himself about. Disposal can improve. He is a Patterson Stadium type player and the development at the Eagles should see him become a very good CHB going forward.

24. GCS -   Julian Dobosz        North Hobart, Age: 18, 193cm, 85kg

My take below:
Gold Coast Suns: their first season was always going to be a difficult mission out, but the team managed to show some positive signs from an elite ruckman in the making, an emerging midfield division and some mature hard body backline players. What was evident in a number of games was that they were missing the presence of a strong bodied foward: Enter Juilian Dobosz at age 18 and already 193cm this 85kg kid will fill the void of missing foward. Has shown is a great contested mark and can kick a bag of goals. Can also rest the man tower Zac Smith in foward line and resume ruckwork around ground.
With some solid pre seasons under his belt we are looking at a league leading foward

Pick 25   Saints   Shane Nelson Mid WA
Slightly undersized midfielder who I think is a ripper. Runs all day and is able to kick the footy with super efficiency. May not be the type of player who is an absolute need for the Saints, but who cares because we all hate them anyway. He is a more than adequate addition to Saints experienced midfield. I also think Nelson has the ability to be a dangerous small forward.
2 years into a 35 year plan
