apparently maric kicked 100 goals in a year as junior playing as a midfielder.

That is a pretty fair effort.

Not apparently, FACT!

It was 120+ goals playing in thr midfield for Greenvale playing under 16's aged 15. I think he did the same in under 14's too ...

torch, I cant ty enough,  some of the no necks that ridiculed my early call probably cant find a hole big enough to crawl into right now :lol

hahaha. greenvale, school footy. league b&fs all the honours etc :lol

WHAT THE stuff HAS HE DONE IN THE LAST 6 YEARS?

played his role to aplomb in Melbourne TANKING.... :lol

Too slow for AFL IMo but certainly worth a crack as a rookie pick.

def worth a crack as a rookie - perfect for a rookie pick imo...has obvious skills (had a couple of solid games at afl level already), still only young and fills a void for us...hopefully the "head check" of getting delisted and then only being a rookie will make him fight (read - train hard, keep his head down and attitude right) and get the most out of him...could be a good pick up if it works out that way - if not, you haven't lost much as a rookie choice...

Will he play forward or return to the form of his Greenvale under 14 days playing a midfielder? BJ, tell us where Dimma is going to play him. Also tell us the other 21 players who are lining up in round one since the decision has already been made.

Kind regards,

I still think A.Maric is too small and doesn't have enough elite 'tricks' to compensate at AFL level.

its not a magic show or an insurance claim.  He is a rookie, they can torture him in the gym, fill him full of whey, and if he decides to pull his digit out he might crack it.  He has more natural talent than a lot of blokes who do make it so he just has to address his weaknesses which could be down to maturity and application while he was at Melbourne.

Too slow for AFL IMo but certainly worth a crack as a rookie pick.

Went to school with him played footy with him at Essendon Grammar, not saying 100m is be all and end all in footy or anything near it but he is certainly not slow, in fact he is very quick. I can remember him running very low 11s in 100m and pushing breaking 11secs that was in year11/12. Did kick over 100 goals in under 16s as a bottom age also and missed 4 games in the 15 game season. Also played on Marc Murphy (as a yr 12 student at Whitefriars I think the school was) and he was in yr 10, Murphy had a lot of it but he had 30plus and kicked 3 himself. Best junior player i have played with and against including Trent Cotchin which I had on par as a under 18. Obviously needs to prove it at senior level. Hope he does.

Maybe be another talent who just doesn't work hard enough and misses the boat. If you're right about his pace and ability I hope he pulls his finger out and becomes team orientated. Would be amazing to have him join the midfield brigade and help Trent next year.

On past experience though, my hopes aren't high

^ firstly bravo re magic show/insurance claim - well played sir :)

and agree - he's a rookie, we haven't guaranteed him anything so now it's up to him to prove how bad he wants it...if he does have all the skills people have mentioned (although dominating juniors is one thing - you can get by on natural ability alone as a kid), pulls his finger out, gets fit & most importantly gets the right attitude/hunger after being delisted then he could fit into the team nicely...good news for him is he's the right age & there's a spot/need available if he's willing to earn it...

for the first time in his career he'll share a forward line with a coleman medalist :shh...as JR8 gets sucked up the ground creating a vaccum with vickers one out in the sq, Maric will come steaming  through like the Lilydale special, express box Hill to ringwood and swoop on any loose pill. KB was a past master at this, if maric can pick up where he left off his decorated hunior days then whoa, we might just have a player :clapping

I wasn't a fan of picking him up but credit where it's due. He played very well last night running hard and showing some footy smarts under pressure.
