Al, get over it mate, put your selections up but try and leave the smart arse crap out now, we have all had a go at each other....move on.

Like I said those are my thoughts on what we should win based on the team we have and the players we have picked up and the development and improvement of our team....... so step up tigers...NO EXCUSES!!!!! :lol

If you don't agree thats fine...

google "manchester united 1958" WAT.

most sane people would accept that as an excuse for not making the finals.

what about you?

I am not really interested in how Man United went in 1958, geezus man, lets use another million teams as examples....

I am interested in the RFC making the finals in 2012 without making excuses every time we lose games we should win. Games that would, should and will get us into finals next year.

Its simple, have the mental strength to with the games we should and we will get there. I can see it. Finals in 2012!!!

seriously why bother. they will never change like TM said.

Man u, Chelsea, next it will be Melbourne Victory etc etc hahaha great comparisons..Please

Do we have holes. Yep sure do but IMO we have the list to make finals. If we dont its all between our ears thats unless we have a Fremantle type scenario with injuries

Yep good point, I think so many people have developed that losing mentality they half expect it and half except it....thats why we have been down for so long half our players and some supporters expected it and the other half excepted it.

The playing group has changed lets hope whats between their ears has too.

WAT, if you'd have come out and said 'I think the club should aim for finals because we have an emerging list and a reasonable draw,' i dont think too people would have a problem. But with your rigid 'finals or failure' attitude and your labelling of everone who doesnt agree with you essentially as 'losers,' you take an unnecessarily combative stance and its as if you are trying to set the club up for another failure.
We realise how important next year is, and I would suggest that Dimma does too. We will have enough pressure from the media who love nothing more than another RFC screw up. We dont need supporters baying for blood before the season has even started.

Who has a problem with what he is saying

are you that thick, of course thats why we should make finals. Do you think he would come out and say no excuses if we play Geelong , Pies and Eagles twice. On the flip side im sure if we self destructed like Freo no more excuses, would not be relevant.

Its only since the draw has come out that some supporters like me really think we should be playing finals in 2012.

Combine that with the fact we will be aiming for the same spots as clubs like Bummers, Nought, Dees. Swans who we beat this year then WAT is spot on the mark.

Its all in the players head simple as that.

Good thread, snips and insults put to one side.
I personally think another year of tanking was the highlight but that was way back on page 2. I was genuinely excited when WAT both saved Africa AND added 2 rounds in 3 pages - still won 17 games in a souped up draw. Truly epic, movie quality of "field of dreams" proportions.
I fear this thread is beginning to lose momentum and then we lose the "unloseable" game to the Pies. What twist will this thread take? Will we re-build? Will we sack Hardwick? Will we tank again?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Mate did I call you a loser???? No I didnt, yes I will stick to my guns about the final because I do believe we can and should make it...I said if people don't garee thats fine, but thats what I think.

We should be playing finals next year, unless the team goes down ina a plane accident as was pointed out.
