Look at our team, we have some seriously very good players, with a couple of new faces and improved players we picked up last year.

Excuse wise other than injuries what prevents us from getting into the finals next year then, lets see the answers to the question reversed??

We are still a very young side with young bodies and young minds, you cant build Maturity and mental strength overnight............But there are No Excuses so hopefully the lads are pumping themselves full of protein powders and brain food as we speak because they will need every ounce of it this season....

So the way Cotch, Martin, Conco, Grimes, Batch etc.... played last year surely they have matured more, add that to the rest of the group and thats a lot of maturity football mid wise and some if not a lot of our boys have put the weight on.

Yes! they all Matured into 20 - 21 year olds :lol :lol

So why has age got anything to do with it.... look at the size of Martin....Most players are retired at between 28-30......not long left then??

So we cant play finals because of age....mmmmmm....baby Bombers....

Where is your proof? Average players "retire" at that age when they're no longer wanted by their club.

The proof is in the body size and the average age of the last 5 or 6 grand final teams :wallywink

lol....Baby Bombers :lol :lol The baby bombers were a revelation that changed the game of AFL forever. It was a young slight but fast side that ran rings around guys like Mick Martin and other slow and hopeless bookends. It was a masterstroke in game style on that all recruiting in this day and age is based on.....

You said most players retire at 28-30. If they're not good enough anymore (Ryan Lonie) or no longer wanted (Joel Bowden) then they will. Guys that can still play don't retire until they're ready

Great idea, they should all take knives out on to the field and start stabbing a few opponents, that ought to  revolutionise the game ;D ;D

So ok, so far you have age and body size as your excuses.....same excuses could of been used in a few wars that were won by the very same type of person you describe.

Really is that it.....

Young, slight but fast? Hmmm, maybe there is a place in the side for Shane Edwards

It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”
