I was hoping to get an outside runner 1st round next draft but Francis always goes with the 'good soldiers' and seems to get it right every time.

Ellis learns the ropes

Richmond's Brandon Ellis was having a big impact on the contest with seven disposals, two goals, 100 per cent efficiency, three inside 50s and best afield honours in the first quarter. Everything appeared to be going his and his team's way, until Blues coach Mick Malthouse swung Dennis Armfield on to him. Ellis' influence quickly dissipated and the Blues managed to work themselves back in to the game. Armfield's tenacity and pressure seemed to get in Ellis' head, as he held him to just six possessions after quarter time. Ellis has had an impressive season, but he will learn a lot from today about what it takes to successfully shake a tag.

His speed surprised me, thought he was run in the mill but actually has some pace to him

He and Conca showed us how good they will be as their size and experience increases. Bloody exciting today with his speed and footskills

Brandon Ellis is a genuine goal kicking midfielder.
Can kick multiple goals as he did today and 30 goals a season and 25 plus possies not out of the question.
Ditto Reece. That is why we need to sign him also.
Fab4 midfield with Dusty, Cotch, Brando, Reece and then you add blokes like Deledio and Vlaustin who in a year or two turn it into a Fab 5 midfield. Plenty of quality and talent.

Yes as is Conca and Vlastuin. All B+ with the potential to A grade players but all have to make slight improvements to get there. Ellis will need to learn how to beat a tag, Conca needs to lift his disposal efficiency a little bit and Vlastuin just needs more experience.

Did last week. Armfield quietened him after quarter time and before you say Cotchin was hurt he was on the ground. Once you cross that white line you are fit.

You would hope if Ellis is getting a hard tag a
Conca. Vlastuin. Martin. Cotchin. Deledio. Houli. Shane Edwards type should be able to step up and fill the void.

One would hope but out of all those you mentioned I thought only Deledio and Vlaustin could hold their heads high and the other bar Titch who didn't play were awful and played their worst games of the year.
