Then there's supposedly other factors including where a deal fits in the new clubs cap, bigger the deal the better the compo

Just my opinion here but there shouldn't be any compo picks. The trade off should be clubs can trade players to wherever they like and contracted player doesn't need to agree. In most other sports around the globe that's how FA works. In the AFL model the players have all the control and IMHO that's not right, not a fair balance
