McCarthy wanted to go, he was not going to be in Richmond's best 22 he was going to have to work for it. Port on the other hand, he is going to walk straight into their starting 22. Its a PR world boys and girls.

And lol @ people saying he wouldn't have been in the 22. The club obviously wanted the bloke and I reckon they thought he'd be playing seniors. Why would we bother with him if they thought he'd be a fringe player? A lot of people seemed keen on this guy but now we don't have him it's a case of "oh well, wouldn't have done much anyway".
