Slow start but Tomic eventually got into the groove and won comfortably in four sets.

Azarenka with that high pitch "ewwwwwwwwwwwwww!" with every shot makes Kasey's match unwatchable.

She is a great Australian tennis player and always will be considered as such even if she does nothing more from here on in her career.

It's the only way he gets an easy win.

Leytons biggest problem is that he often has gruelling 5 setters against spuds that he should be wiping the floor with. By the time he gets to the later rounds (when he does) he is normally stuffed, while his opponents have cruised through and have plenty of juice in the tank.

he may have a great fighting fighting spirit, but he lacks that killer instinct that enables him to put lesser opponents away easily.

He only ever had his speed and court coverage which he'd scamper after every ball and keep getting shots back. Now that's gone/others have passed him in that area.

I suppose they are pretty much the reason why he struggles against the lesser knowns.

He is a pretty good return of serve though, something you need to be successful, along with a big serve yourself, which as you say he lacks.

basically he just grinds his opponents down, which is difficult when they have the weopons you mention and are fresh as daisies when you meet them in the later rounds.

Tomic in a 5-set fight. He's been inconsistent tonight but he's just got the break to lead 3-1 in the last.
