While probably not the standard, for some reason i really like this painting. It's an interesting concept.

he too combined more contemporary style with traditional aboriginal art in his paintings.
One of his painting depicted a story that his grandmother had told him, which had been passed on to her of their clan seeing a ship off the mid western oz coast. the problem was that this was supposedly historically incorrect as there were no record of any ship landing there at this time.
a few years later i saw one of les hiddens shows on explorers. The explorer, ( i cant remember which one) recorded that when travelling through the mid interior of WA he came across a group of dutch people, dressed in their garb trying to make a go living there. as he could not speak dutch nor they english he could not find out their story.
again, this story is discounted as there are no records of any ships landing in that region or attempts at settlement at the time.
I do wonder if the two are related?
