Vickery >>>> Hurley :D

Lucky for us Vickery doesn't carry the hype, or the 5 year contract but I wouldn't swap them.

Lucky for us Vickery doesn't carry the hype, or the 5 year contract but I wouldn't swap them.

Hurley started his career with a bang which was incredible for a KPP, he's not as polished as reports would have you believe, he doesn't destroy games with multiple big marks and big goals, but he has serious presence. Tbh not sure how much better he is now than he was in his first season when he was swinging from CHB to CHF like a 200 gamer, like Fyfe, Gibbs, Rioli and co, his hype carries him through games, I've seen him have 10 touch games with little influence yet the one big moment is all you hear about.

Viceroy on the other hand is flying under the radar but is improving in leaps and bounds, if he continues improving and kicks another 35-40 goals this year and rucks a little bit more he'll be every bit as valuable as any young KPP in the game

When you are hyped up anything you do is amplified 100%.

Nobody remembers him slapping about a cabbie and being racist towards him now but everyone

"who matters" in the media remembers his x goal in x game and how he attacked the ball and dished it off at the right time. The type of garbage Gerard Healy would over analyse.

I'm not denying he is good but if he didn't play for Essendon would he be "that good". :shh

I think not.

If he played for Richmond you'd think he was better than any other forward we have bar Jack. The bloke is a gun ffs

No disputing Hurley is a good player.
Where I have Vickery ahead currently is his ability to ruck as well as being every bit as dangerous up forward as Hurley.
In the current climate, I see Vickery as more valuable.

Where I have Hurley ahead is he can play the two most important positions on the ground
Vicks could become the better player if he actually becomes a gun ruck, but at the moment he's not, and he doesn't get as much of the ball as Hurley or take as many marks

Once again. You have all shown how you have all been bluffed. If he played for Richmond he may not even touch the ball. Hurley til now has shown nothing and is all bluff and potential

Two different players. Hurley is a switch key defender/forward whereas Vickery is a switch key forward/ruckman. Hurley gets more of the ball and takes more marks but their averaging the same goal wise. Vickery of course has a hitouts stat which Hurley doesn't have.

Vickery has had a quiet-ish preseason. Not ordinary but nothing outstanding either. Hopefully with the Blues weakened and short backline this week TV can punish Carlton whose focus will be mainly on containing Jack.

Hurley has had a few good games, but his attack on the ball is ferocious for a forward. He'll be ok.
And you may not think I care for you
