Correct.

we came within 10 points of beating a team that is far from the outfit that won last years premiers

That game was ours

Extremely disappointed. Game against the Eagles can't come fast enough. The players should be chewing arms and legs off next week to get the win.

yes terrible that we came within ten points of rolling the reigning premiers on their home digs.  We are going backwards, time to sack everyone.
it's this sort of sarcastic rhetoric that has been our downfall for years.
I hope no-one at the club has this "she'll be right" attitude.
I hope all the coaches feel as we do and are gutted, angry and fed up.
I hope the players feel this way also.
I hope to end the loser and close enough is good enough mentality.

Don't you wonder why the bummers & north can win games like this but we can't? It's because they have the winning attitude that we only dream of.

I hate losing and everyone at the club should hate it too.
Close enough is NEVER good enough!!!
The club that keeps giving.

Mr. T., Owl is not saying that he enjoys losing. He is not saying that close enough is good enough. Owl, like others on here, is simply saying that it is not terrible what happened yesterday. Last years result, the 100 pointer the year before and the 151 pointer before that is a terrible result.

Great post.throughly agree .its not about the margin.its about getting the 4 points
Ross Lyon never coached for margins.as long as the team is good enough to get the 4 points
Something that we struggle with

Geelongs bigger bodies got em over the line.

We have improved greatly from where we've come 2 years ago.

I'm gutted abut the loss but it's time to move on and concentrate on next week and I reckon we are a bigger chance against West Coast.

Had all the elements against us and still nearly won.

Geelong seething after a loss to North.First game for them home.
Unfurling the flag.Hardly any Richmond support(well we out roared 20k with our 500 in the 3rd quarter lol) due to Andy D.s strange idea of us playing there when we have more members than Carlton or Essendon.

It's pretty hard when the CEO of the AFL is pooting himself with fear that Richmond will be a powerhouse again.

From the mouth of Grigg (below) in his latest interview about the Cats game, starting to get funny now isn't it, all the players can see it, the coach admits it, but still some blinded supporters always seem to accept these losses, or make the excuses. Oh we are still young, we are developing, this player this, that player that, the umpires, we were playing last year Grand Finalists, we did play a top 4 team, they were bigger, we had the wind against us.....bla bla bla......

stuff me, NO MORE stuffING EXCUSES!!!!!!

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

when the game was there for the taking, their seasoned and experienced campaigners stood up while a couple of our inexperienced blokes made a couple of crucial errors.

That was the difference.

Has nothing to do with the club accepting close enough being good enough.

Owl, i hope you take note of the zealots comments. That sarcastic rhetoric of yours is our downfall, and if we lose next week it will because of such comments. Wake up to yourself son, your holding the club back.

:lol Yes the coaching and playing staff are always affected by such actions.
I also hope you are not making excuses, Al.
Oh hang on, the Geelong guys being more experienced and our young blokes making mistakes sounds like reasons for losing, not excuses.
