Must admit i didn't see the game last night  but his stats does not command 850k or above  the last few weeks ...Smells like early eighties dejuvu ... If i was Collingwood would  put a offer on the table which will sow discord at  the biggest rivals salary cap & playing group
The Clokes will stuff us again !!!

I don't understand why posters use the logic that our players would be unhappy with Cloke being ona 5 year deal worth $800 or 900k when his own teammates are going to be happy with him getting a 5 year(conditional final year) deal worth $700-800k.
The difference is marginal in $ and yet the on field difference would be significant.
I'm not even the slightest bit worried by his on field form this year, if rumours are true he's not close at all to Buckley and the bottom line this kid steps up in finals.

I would go as far to say that there is no way we would have lost any of the past 3 games and last night would've been a 10 goals+ win.

It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

Fair enough i can see your point  and his form last week was good against one of the newbies i was  harsh  on the fella for that i apologise . But i am concerned about retaining our untouchables and heaven forbid if we lose one of them at the expense of this guy the ramifications could be shattering for the club... Looks more likely  Chaplin is a done deal ( feels like  raiding Fitzroy again )  :whistle  and if we can add Cloke to the team  and keep the bank balance and harmony in check i am for it also ..
I was wrong

Yeah, I think it's time to go after a 'big fish', CHF. Griff is looking like he will be our 'swing' tall - predominately back. With Chapma,n Astbury and Post as depth. If we get Cloke and Chapman I would be rapt. But what would we have to give up for him? The price will be huge.

The reward will be huge and thats we need to focus on.... :

I would love to see Griff at FF with Jack, IMO he is wasted in the , massive roost on the guy.l

Nup, I'm happy with him being able to straddle a zone from the kick-in or kicking an I50 from our defence :o He is also a very smart, attacking user of the ball with his hands down back. I reckon CHB with a licence to go forward at times. But honestly, I'm just glad he's ours   :birthday

agree with Griff down back - been pleasantly surprised & the other thing is it teaches him about how to play forward for if we do need to "swing" him in the future...his kicking is a real weapon & he appears to be getting more confident with the pace of the game (Post looked better last couple of games too)

if cloke is gettable at the right price we'd be foolish not to go after him - plain & simple...any chance to improve the list with players that are the right age demo must be grabbed....if we are going to "bankrupt" ourselves moving forward then that's another thing all together - however as we've seen over the years, key forwards don't come along all that often & you generally need a couple of bigs to succeed...

My understanding is why have been paying close to the min salary cap for some time.

And have some rubbish players on decent money.

Should not go close to bankrupt you'd hope

Definitely no to Cloke. Too expensive and want to have room in salary cap. Need to build team up. Historically speaking expensive imports don't win premierships.

our supporters would be amazed at some of the salaries some of our average players are getting. one who must surely be delisted if he isnt traded for a 4th rounder is on about $400k a year if rumours are correct. that would be about half of what is needed to pay for Cloke.

Move on McGuane, and all of a sudden the price of Cloke isn't so bad.  :whistle
