He's an unrestricted free agent. We only have to come to terms with him. Looks like he's playing his best football at the moment, and added another string to his bow showing he can go forward. Nuffy  :santa

Re: Griffiths. He hasn't exactly demanded selection through form in the seconds. He has only played out a handful of games since he appears to need wrapping in cotton wool and given a hug every second week.

Miller is not earning his spot on the otherhand.

I agree. But then again neither are our entire forward line.

Claw, you're preaching to the converted on Merrett
Would get 4 years out of him give or take

Would have thought Grimes' injury opened some of the nuff nuffs eyes, guess not
it doesnt have to be merret its the type of kpd he is that im after.
dunno who said play griffiths at chb this week.  im not against trying him there especially when atm all we have is rance.
but im adamant hes a ff and is our best chance of finding a genuine tall forward prospect going forward.

i would like nothing more thab to see all of griffiths post and vickery make it. if fit and in form and we had say merrett i would like to see us line up so.

b/ morris - merrett - grimes.
hb/ dea - rance - batchelor
c/ grigg - martin - deledio
hf/ conca - riwoldt - quality medium sized forward. we dont have one
f/ vickery - griffiths - quality small forward we dont have one.
r/ maric - cotchin - foley
int from/ helbig - ellis - tuck - arnot - newman - 1st rnd pick - 2nd rnd pick both mids.

that amounnts to the following being depth players or in development or being delisted. we all have our opinions on them and their worth.

mids - edwards, jackson, webberley,  houli who i don rate a mid, nahas and white who are more sml forwards. any other mids we may draft or trade for.personally would be looking to upgrade the lot obviously not all in one go.

tall defenders -  mcguane, moore, any one we may draft or trade. the cupboard is bare when it comes to depth and development in this area. fair enough if and thats a big if one of the young kpfs can be converted to a defender but sheesh that will put a lot of pressure on our kpf situation. bit like robbing peter to pay paul.

tall forwards - astbury, elton, miller. anyone we may draft or trade. would cut miller without hesitation we are wasting our time with him. obviously we could do with a couple more in development

small/med  defenders and forwards -  connors king, a maric, o'hanlon, anyone we may draft or trade. desperately need sml/med forwards would keep ohanlon and cut the rest if possible.

ruckmen - derickx, graham, browne. i think all three are unlikely to make it. we need a quality young ruckman in our system to take over from big ivan im 3 or 4 yrs time. and would look to rookie one as well. would even go so far as to find another mature one as well. obviously i would cut all three if possible.

any way just a broad outline of my thinking on the list just my opinion and i think most of us know it but we still have a lot of work to do.

Unrestricted makes a bit off difference, yeah, still have to convince him to leave though.

I thought you wanted him as backman  ;D

yeah can't see him leaving TBH

he was a forward as a jnr. so i guess it's not really another string, nice flexibility though

he's barely 6 foot

So you think he's barely 6 foot? Honestly, WGAF?

It was a bit tongue in cheek as pendles and swan were on interchage.
Mids also included dangerfield, j selwood, stanton

Really trying to pump up our tyres and derail us I reckon

I'm one of Newy's biggest fans but I wouldn't have him in the AA side. His past month has been terrific but he started the year slowly. Lids should be in there instead.

Ch 7's AA team
B:   Rance    Glass   Reilly
HB: Waters  Richards  Newman
C:   Cotchin   Pendlebury  Stanton
HF:  Ablett       Franklin     Lewis Jetta
F:   T.Walker  J.Riewoldt    Rioli
R:  I.Maric  Dangerfield   Selwood
Int: Judd, Watson, Swan, H.Shaw

Judd only in there on reputation.
Rioli has been too inconsistent for mine. He either has starred in a few games and the rest gone missing such as against us.
Based on this year I would have Scott Thompson in for Judd and Zaharakis in for Rioli.
Even Swan's inclusion seems more based on reputation. Surely one of the Eagles' mids deserves to be in the AA side given they are on top of the ladder.
