What's the problem then if everyone already knows? Not sure if I'm just missing your angle, but it's just starting to sound like some blokes looking for a whinge. What lies are you referring to? It's not like the club said he had the runs or a broken hand or something. I didn't expect Foley back this season and nor did many here. Not with that sort of injury. I'm just glad the Franklin scenario wasn't our club's this week otherwise this place would be in meltdown.

Maybe I'm mixing it up with postings on here but I thought there was a definite statement from the club that Foley's injury was NOT a recurrence of his original achilles injury that he played with in 2009 and was a separate and different injury, a bruised heel.

As regards the reason for a club not releasing bad news, the simple and most obvious reason is to maintain optimism and thus membership and attendance sales. It's the same as other businesses telling lies to avert scrutiny to keep up share prices and consumer trading.

Doggies fans want answers because Murphy was listed as out with a hamstring, he revealed on 360 on Monday night that it was in fact back/hip tightness. Scandalous.

Sounds like jackstar was correct.

So does this mean we as members were lied to? And for what reason?

Maybe RFC official can shed some light on this for us.

....or maybe he doesn't love us anymore....

He won't be able to answer this!!! Apparently.
why not?  I don't see the problem with being upfront and honest.
Lying just hurts supporters in the end and makes the club look stupid as in this case and other recent incidents.

Agree but he is not permitted to speak outside the club about issues that may be considered sensitive by the club.....there you go. Don't shoot the messenger.

Seems to me we need more money so we can have a higher medical spend.  Does anyone know the correlation of high medical spend clubs and injuries to players.  Sydney seem to be the best at avoiding injuries and managing those they get to me from afar, but I don't have the stats.

Out of contract at the end of the season Mr Magic but club and his management in negotiations

Reports a week or so back were he was close to re-signing

I expect it to be done soon rather than later now

Hardwick gutted by Foley blow
By Ashley Browne
Thu 12 Jul, 2012

RICHMOND coach Damien Hardwick has spoken of his disappointment at the season-ending Achilles injury to crack midfielder Nathan Foley.

Foley suffered a partial rupture of the tendon just as he was bidding for selection for Saturday's home game with Gold Coast in Cairns.

"To see him pull up the way he did was sickening to the stomach," Hardwick told SEN on Thursday. "The way he was running around, we were hoping he would play this week."

Foley had missed four matches because of a hip injury.

"It was so disappointing because he'd put in an enormous amount of work," Hardwick said.

"He's a diligent young man.

"As you can imagine, he's pretty flat, but the positive is he can get it fixed and he'll be able to play for a number of years.

Hardwick estimated that before his hip injury, Foley was likely polling in the top five in the Tiger best and fairest.

"He's the sort of player that other sides let go because of the Deledio-Cotchin-Martin match-ups and he was regularly getting 25 touches and hitting up the scoreboard as well," Hardwick said.

"It's a massive loss for us but we just hope he can get himself back and play the good footy that we know he can."

No wonder. Last game we played well in was the game he got injured.
Been a massive slide since the St Kilda game.
