I partially ruptured my transverse tendon on my wrist after some clown cut me off on my motorbike, just means it didn't completely tear right through.  He will have no spring in that foot, won't be able to push off or anything, surgery or looong rehab depending on how bad it was from what the surgeon and sports quack told me, who treats footballers as it happens.

Bad luck indeed for Nate. Might be time to look forward methinks unfortunately.

I agree  :-[

What's the success rate of ruptured achilles injuries? how many players have come back from it and regained their speed and acceleration?
Not many have. Roughead probably the current exception. He's come back and is in career best form IMO.

From what I heard the Club was tossing up between sending Axel to surgery now so he's on the mend by the time preseason training starts in November OR try and manage the condition through to the end of the season so he could still play and then have the surgery. Seems the 'incident' yesterday made the decision for the Club. Frustrating news for Axel as he was getting back to near his best in the first half of this year. Those who decided to play him injured in the round 1, 2009 game have a lot to answer for for this  :scream.

I thought of Roughead initially, but wondering if anyone knew of any midfielders. Don't want to jump the gun, but I'm worried this might be career ending. His spring and pace are his tools. Look at Cooney. Knee is shagged and he is only a shell of what he was.

Hate to be a doomsayer but it's more than likely over.

Came back and played two more seasons.  Some have the memory of forgetful goldfish.

Had Campbell had a prior achillies injury already before his rupture? Because that's what Foley will be dealing with.

Sounds like jackstar was correct.

So does this mean we as members were lied to? And for what reason?

Maybe RFC official can shed some light on this for us.

....or maybe he doesn't love us anymore....

I don't think the club is obliged to be transparent. I don't recall being lied to either. Everyone here at least was well aware of the injury, and the club with held the extent until they decided what they were going to do.

What's the point of hiding injuries
All clubs watch each other train irrelevant if it's a closed session as well
Players have mates at other clubs
Pretty easy to find out what's going on the world
Even an easier way.go to training and watch for yourself .pretty simple
Club knew Axle was gone 5 weeks ago
I have seem him several times limping around in those 5 weeks.so have many people so what's the point in telling lies?
Other events of recent times also have a similar spin as well.so what's the point

Super upsetting news about Foley. The RFC media folks seem to be suggesting that after this surgery he will be good to go. Really hope this is accurate and he's not the next Cogs.

What's the problem then if everyone already knows? Not sure if I'm just missing your angle, but it's just starting to sound like some blokes looking for a whinge. What lies are you referring to? It's not like the club said he had the runs or a broken hand or something. I didn't expect Foley back this season and nor did many here. Not with that sort of injury. I'm just glad the Franklin scenario wasn't our club's this week otherwise this place would be in meltdown.

why not?  I don't see the problem with being upfront and honest.
Lying just hurts supporters in the end and makes the club look stupid as in this case and other recent incidents.
