How did Tyrone Downie come about RFCO?

Mates of mine around Bendigo tell me there are plenty of better players and coaches in that comp but first us and then the Gold Coast were after him?
Our talent identifiers rated him, and apparently Gold Coast's did too. That's all that matters I guess.

Was it as a player or a coach we were mainly interested?
Player. He wants to persue coaching long term.

Our ressies side may be playing a curtain-raiser at the M.C.G. against Collingwood on August 22.

At 18 years of age, Kain Proctor already knows how much hard work it takes to make it at the highest level.

The eldest son of former Richmond player Lionel Proctor, who played 20 games for the club between 1998-2001, has commenced pre-season training with Richmond’s VFL squad in November, and is determined to make the most of the opportunity.

Probably just as interested in watching the magoos go around this year than I am the firsts, if not moreso. (assuming Hardwick sticks with his favourites.) The two Big Macs operating up front will be intriguing, not to mention we should now be one of the quicker sides in the comp.   Be interesting to see how the defence holds up - with Unbeatable Benny Darrou gone, not much quality left there apart from the VFL -listed Wall and maybe -to a lesser extent- Wynne. Ruck stocks not all that deep either - you can't really say at this stage that Soldo's a legitimate replacement for Stephenson and McBean is miles off as a Ruckman. Will we chuck the new great white Mchope in there? Guess whoever loses at the selection table out of Vickery & Griffiths can also fill the breach. Also hoping Pat Contin can stay fit - we missed him last year IMO.  Also be nice to get more than 5 minutes from Davey this year - is he still on the VFL list?

based on the sheer number of senior games played last yr then i cant see a lot changing. the best 22 saw most players play 15 games or more and it was only really injury or suspension that saw players play less. blokes like petterd were given 17 games grigg 15 this indicates the club is was happy with their performances.

we have 44 players on the list and based on senior  games played last yr  and keeping players in positions then the most likely reserves side next yr should go like this.
This is not what i would like to see done but what im pretty sure the club will do based on what happened last yr.

backs
FB:  Batchelor 188/88/ 23yo/53gms  - Astbury 195/95/  24yo/37gms  - Dea 186/86/  23yo/31gms
HB: Mcintosh 192/89  20yo/0gms   -   Elton  197/100  21yo/1gme   -    Castagna 181/71/  18yo/0gms

Dea and Mcintosh are in competition with Vlastuin and Houli. Batchelor/mcintosh  is in competion imo with Grimes as the third tall.. Imo Astbury and elton  are competing with Chaplin for a kpd spot.

mids on ballers
C: Drummond 182/86/ 19yo/0 gms - Thomas 186/87/  28yo/100gms   -  Menadue 187/69  18yo/0 gms
R: Hampson 201/106/  27yo/74gms - C Ellis  184/75/  18yo/0 gms   -  Lambert 178/76/  23yo/0gms.
Maric before Hampson.  Grigg, Martin Ellis, Cotchin,  and Miles are entrenched. Lets be honest it wont change unless injuries hit. as much as we dislike some players ie Grigg.
Blokes like Thomas and probably lambert are next cabs of the rank imo they all could get senior games coming off the bench.

forwards
HF: Knights 184/84/  28yo/101gms  -  Mcbean 202/93/ 20yo/0 gms   -  Lennon 188/77/  19yo/7 gms
FF: Soldo 204/103/  18yo/0 gms   -   Mckenzie 179/104/ 19yo/0 gms   -  Lloyd 180/83/  25yo/8 gms
Knights/lennon  imo could replace a bloke like Gordon. Lennon will be given opportunity, mcbean, mckenzie are trying to take spots of vickery and griffiths.  wont happen atm.

INT: Mcdonough  180/82/  21yo/8 gms   -  Short 177/72/  19yo/0 gms   -  Arnot 180/86/  21yo/8 gms   -  Butler 182/80/  18yo/0 gms
all mids or fwd mids. they arent going to force your foleys, petterds, concas ,  out of the seniors until they can consistently out perform them.

the above is the most likely ressies side and with so many who are yet to play a game or played less than 10 senior games there really isnt a lot of pressure on senior spots.
some areas there is no or very little competition at all.

What about a Rance, Astbury and Chaplin line up? With Rance or Chaplin playing 3rd tall? This is provided Astbury continues his short period of solid form
