Summary tweets to half-time:

@liammcbean kicks the first major of 2016 with a class snap from the pocket. Rich 1.1.7 Gee 0.1.1 #gotiges

An ambitious kick into the corridor by Oleg Markov 45m out from @GeelongVFL 's goal is cut-off. Scores now level at 1.1.7 apiece.

Ryan Bathie converts a tough set-shot, 45m on a 45° angle. Rich 2.1.13 Gee 1.1.7. Scrappy affair due to the blustery conditions.

Jayden Short's left foot snap out of congestion floats through. Tigers holding the ascendency 3.1.19 to 1.1.7.

QT: Rich 3.1.19 to Gee 1.1.7. Forward pressure very pleasing in that quarter. Soldo and McBean offering a contest in the ruck.

Not the start we wanted. Geelong surge the ball forward from the opening centre bounce and convert. RICH 3.1.9 to GEE 2.2.14.

Risky kick by Elton turned over in D50. Geelong now lead 3.2.20 to 3.1.19.

That's three-in-a-row for the Cats as we struggle to control the ball. GEE 4.4.28 to RICH 3.1.19. Callum Moore standing-out at CHB.

Bathie gathers on 50, shrugs a tackle and nails a much needed goal and cuts the deficit to 3 points. GEE 28 to RICH 25.

Joel Selwood gets behind the Tiger defence and slots his second for the quarter. GEE 34 to RICH 25.

HT: GEE 6.5 41 to RICH 4.1.25. Geelong dominated the 2nd term w/ 5 goals to 1. Callum Moore strong, athletic and daring down back.

Slick hands in close from McBean sets up Tom Quinn for our first of the quarter. Punt Rd Oval under lights. GEE 47 to RICH 31.

Taylor Hunt bursts through the middle and nails a goal from long range. Well guided through by McBean. GEE 47 to RICH 37.

Advantage given as Jordan Quaile snaps truly. Margin cut to three-points. GEE 47 to RICH 44. Liam McBean getting involved.

A defensive error opens the door for the Cats as they extend their lead to nine. GEE 53 to RICH 44.

Todd Elton's scrubby kick fails to clear D50 and results in another Geelong goal. GEE 60 to RICH 44.

Dan Butler intercepts inside the centre square...steadys and finishes with conviction from outside 50. GEE 60 to RICH 51.

3QT:
GEEL 9.7.61
RICH 8.3.51.

Goals: Goals: Bathie 2, Short, McBean, Quinn, Hunt, Quaile, Butler.

We made the most of the scoring end with four majors, but allowed the Cats three of their own.

Geelong has kicked away in the last quarter.

Oleg Markov great defensive work to spoil back with the flight and then followed up with a smother. Just what we need.

The Cats strike the crucial first blow after an errant Tiger handball exiting D50 proved costly. GEE 69 to RICH 51.

Back-to-back goals gives the Cats a handy 24-point lead with 13 min remaining.

Cats are home now as they slot their third of the quarter and 12th of the game to lead by 32-points in red time. GEE 84 to RICH 52.
