going by the op we have 11 players who can be delisted because they are uncontracted.. i cant see us cutting contracted players and think it unlikely so will post accordingly.

we should have picks or similar.

10, 30, 35, 48, 64, i can see us utiliseing these picks. plus psd and at least one free agent. to me thats a total of 7 from the list proper.

from this list of uncontracted players mcguane, white, macdonald, webberley, browne, foley, moore,derickx,  newman, tuck, post.  the most likely to go including those already gone are

connors - gone, not sure of his contract status but doesnt matter hes gone.
macdonald - gone
webberley - mature recruit whos had 3 yrs cant get a game.
derickx - mature recruit cant get a game had two yrs.
white - vfl standard player had 7yrs  and the worst of the rest.
mcguane - see white.
browne- i say browne because we will keep one backup for ivan and graham is contracted. players need to show incremental improvment at least. dont think browne has done this.

cant see moore being cut, not after a handful of games and two yrs of perseverence.
 tuck and foley would be safe as houses compared to the rest of that list and who really thinks newman will get the behind regardless of what we think.

putting on my wishful thinking cap id like us to go something like this.
10 - caddy
30 - mid
35 - mid
48 - lee 21yo kpf/kpd wafl.
64 - ruckman
last nd pick max duffy 188cm medium forward . havent cut anyone above for this.

psd moloney mature mid.
fa troy chaplin seems a done deal.

Webberley is 24 yo and played 16 games in 3 years. Looks like a duck, certainly quacks like one

If they are prepared to pay out contracts then you'd have to look at Gus and consider keeping DerrickX; I'd  pay out Gus and cut him loose but I don't think they will

Dont' like cutting 1st year rookies after 1 season and by rookies I mean kids out of the TAC Cup - they deserve a 2nd year to develop

Have no problem with cutting 1st year rookies that have been int he system for a number of years that's why I'd cut MIni Maric. Apart from "that" tackle against the Saints he hasn't shown much apart from being a rabbit in the headlights too often


Also of the view that if anyone shows any interest at trade time for any of our players outside of those who are untouchable you at the very least LISTEN to offers

Would say you would have to keep one of Post Moore or McGuane (shouldnt go to backline again) just as back up to the injury prone duo of Griffiths and Grimes. Astbury still unknown (personally dont rate him but could be harsh early judgment).

I think they can all go.

I would rookie Moore as a 'mature ager' for cover in case of injury, wave good bye to McGuane and Post. Thank you both for your services, wish you all the best.

Chaplin coming in and Astbury injury free will cover for the loss of the other 2. Astbury, while I agree hasn't shown much at all to deserve wearing the #12, is young and has some time on his side, unlike Post and McGuane who we know what we are getting, and it's just not good enough.
