Carlton defender
Jordan Russell has left the club. Russell and his management held talks with Carlton officials yesterday where he informed them he would pursue a fresh start as an unrestricted free agent.
Essendon forward
Angus Monfries remains unsigned and in demand, with Port Adelaide chasing his services. Although his priority is to remain at Windy Hill, it is believed Monfries will be offered no more than a two-year deal. It is believed Port may be willing to offer the 25-year-old the security of a four-year contract to return to South Australia. Jay Clark from the Herald-Sun on twitter says "Angus Monfries to Melbourne. Four year deal. Rival clubs convinced it's happening. Dees need a hard working small forward."
Eagle
Quinten Lynch is looming as a bargain-priced alternative in Carlton's search for an established key forward.
Collingwood is also pursuing a versatile big man. Melbourne's
Stefan Martin, 25, is believed to be on the radar.
Magpies back-up ruckman
Cameron Wood is out of contract and faces an uncertain future beyond this season.
