Ben Jacobs wants home
Port Adelaide backman Ben Jacobs wants to return to Victoria after resisting contract offers from the Power.
After two years at Port, the pin-point left-footer is in Melbourne this week to discuss his future with rival clubs. Geelong and Essendon are hunting another class midfielder, while North Melbourne and St Kilda rated Jacobs highly in his draft year.
Trying to win the 20-year-old's signature would be a priority for the next Port Adelaide coach, to be appointed next week. But it is understood Jacobs would prefer a fresh start closer to family.
The 186cm playmaker was an All-Australian in his draft year after averaging 29 touches at the under-18 national championships. But his development stalled this season. The strongly built defender/midfielder was dropped in Round 15 and was unable to regain his spot.
The former Brighton Grammar captain who was taken pick No.16, is the third player selected in the first round of the 2010 draft to indicate he wants to move on, after Gold Coast midfielder Josh Caddy (No.7) and Melbourne key forward Lucas Cook (No.12).
Adam McPhee to flee
Adam McPhee could be lured back to Melbourne three years after walking out of Essendon for Fremantle.
The Dockers have offered McPhee a modest one-year deal despite him blossoming under Ross Lyon this season.
Originally from Narre Warren, he still has strong family connections in Melbourne and may look to move -- either for a better one-year deal or a two-year arrangement.
Although McPhee turns 30 next month, he offers versatility as a player who is strong overhead down back and capable of pinch-hitting forward.
Two Bombers weigh up their futures
Another player offered a one-year deal, Essendon's Scott Gumbleton, is weighing his future, while teammate Angus Monfries remains unsigned as Port Adelaide circles.
