St Kilda Football Club can confirm that Brendon Goddard has accepted an offer from Essendon Football Club as a restricted free agent and will be departing the Saints.

Despite a significant three year offer made by the Saints, which appropriately respected the Club’s player payment model, Goddard has elected to leave the Club.

Kurt Tippett could shock the Crows by seeking a blockbuster trade to Collingwood.

Adelaide understands this third option [other than Brisbane or Gold Coast] is a big Melbourne-based club - Collingwood.

Gold Coast believes it is AFL premier Sydney with a $1 million-a-season offer to Tippett.

By today, Tippett's signature will be a hot auction item between as many as six clubs.

The Magpies are expected to find $1.15 million of salary cap relief - of which at least $800,000 would be needed for Tippett - by trading key forward Chris Dawes and midfielder Sharrod Wellingham and listing four veterans next season.

Sharrod Wellingham is likely to turn his back on lucrative offers from Melbourne and Port Adelaide to return home to Western Australia.

Gold Coast ruckman Tom Hickey wants to continue his career with a Melbourne-based club and is seeking to be traded.

Geelong is a clear favourite to secure the Suns' Josh Caddy, who has also requested to be traded to a Victorian club.

Contracted Western Bulldogs small forward Justin Sherman could be headed to a third club. The former Brisbane player is out of favour at Whitten Oval after just 10 games this year.

Contracted North Melbourne pair Levi Greenwood and Cam Pederson are seeking opportunities elsewhere.

West Coast's Quentin Lynch is understood to have agreed to a two-year deal, with either Melbourne or Collingwood his likely destination. Melbourne's offer is understood to be more lucrative than the Magpies'.

Several clubs have inquired about West Coast defender Mitch Brown who is contracted for one more year to the Eagles and remains a required player there. Brown battled for senior opportunities this year, prompting the interest from clubs such as St Kilda and Hawthorn.
