Anyone else think GWS have been given too much power with drafting this and last season with the pre listing of players and also the mini drafts?  :banghead

Gold Coast must feel like they've been screwed over. GWS have been given WAY more concessions than the Suns received. GWS can still grab some uncontracted players too.

A fair few first round picks being traded away this year. Clubs preferring to target needs with top ups rather than rating this draft?

I haven't been following the draft but I thought this year was meant to be a strong group.

The hawks do have a list to win a premiership they should of really won it this year missed opportunity.

Nick Bowen ‏@AFL_Nick

"Bulldogs will reportedly also give Hawks pick 27. So Hawks get Lake & 27, Dogs 21. Deal getting sweeter for Hawks"

If that's true the Hawks practically got Lake for nothing.

Some caller on SEN is claiming Sam Reid will end up with his brother at Collingwood as part of the deal to get Tippett to Sydney. Melbourne gives first round pick(s) [pick 4?]  to the Pies (for Dawes/Wellingham) which is/are passed onto Adelaide. Must be a deluded Pies fan as I can't see the Swans effectively swapping Reid for Tippett.

This is a very strong draft year, some comparing it to 2001.

isnt it hilarious watching the Buldogs and Demons basically resort to selling themselves off for nothing

Pick 4 for Wellingham/Dawkes to the pies

Now lake for virtually nothing

Now lake is a top up player but why would you hand him over to a club whilst still in contract.

Dawks cleaned up there

Pick 21 and 41 from Hawthorn to Footscray for Lake and pick 27.

Considering where the Dog's list is, it's not a horrible deal. Lake is 31, they get rid of him and get another first round pick and a later 2nd round pick. Leaves them with:

5, 6, 21, 41, 46, 47.

If I were them I would have pushed for a decent player as well.

By the sounds of it, Wellingham would rather retire than play for Melbourne.

Bulldogs could save some money with paying full salary cap getting rid of his contract.
Does anyone know how much bulldogs are currently paying % of their cap

Maybe we can now trade Postie to the Dogs as they'll now need another tall defender  ;D.

Hawks trading their future away for a flag in the next two years. 29+ next year - Mitchell, Sewell, Hodge, Burgoyne, Guerra, Gibson, Lake, Hale ....... tick tick tick. If it doesn't pay off hello cliff face :yep.
